We went here because it was supposed to be the top 5 best BBQ in NH. It was terrible. Food was NOT good and the service was worse. I'm not sure how they got a good rating but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DON'T GO HERE!!!!!
WOW.... really?? Read the owner's response below! Instead of apologizing she goes off on me! So the "server" was the owner. That makes me think even less of the place! My kids and I entered the "restaurant" (really a bar with 2 tables) and stood in the doorway for at least 2 minutes before the owner even acknowledged us ! (she was standing right next to the door fiddling around with something) And when she did finally look up, she rudely told us to go sit down. Then we waited even longer before she decided to bring us menus. YES we ate our food! We had been skiing all day and we were hungry! But the sausage was terrible! The macaroni and cheese barely had any cheese on it and was terribly dry! The baked beans (which I expected to be homemade) were not even as good as a can of Bush's. My son got the BBQ. I tasted the sauce...YUCK very vinegary. Not good! And the prices were VERY high for the quality of the food and service! I am sorry I even left a 10% tip now that I know the server was also the owner! So if you want horrible food, bad service and an expensive bill..... go here! ...
Read moreWildwood Smokehouse is spectacular. Though they were sold out of the Hog Wing appetizer I was not disappointed in choosing their Buffalo chicken wings. They were smoky, peppery and delicious. I ordered the Pitmaster with smoked sausage and brisket. Sides were Mac and cheese and cole slaw. The Mac has a nice smoky overtone and the slaw has dill in a classic mayo and vinegar base. Who puts dill in cole slaw? I dunno? Wildwood does, and it works well. All of the food is clearly made in-house and everything was great. The owner/server was welcoming and very friendly. The place is very small, but also, very homey. My girlfriend and I called ahead to check to see if they were open as we read they sometimes sell out and close early. We arrived around 6pm and found immediate seating. We got there at the right time, because within minutes the place was at capacity. I highly recommend Wildwood Smokehouse. Their food was awesome, and the service matched. I am a hard diner to please. But, there was not one thing on my plates that I was even remotely disappointed with. Well done, Wildwood....
Read moreA 5 star rating? Half of restaurant is a kitchen remodeling store. Eat dinner and look at cabinets and case of toilet paper. Halfway through meal gal entered with her three year old and toy poodle in tow. Ate dinner with dog sitting at our table begging and child either standing there with pooch or running from one end of restaurant to front door , then clawing at front door window to - get out? Relaxing. Food(?). Could not tell difference in taste between BBQ chicken and pulled pork. Served in pool of - water? - and tasted watery. Baked beans recipe - open whatever can of pork and beans on sale this week. Dirty rice - no, not dirty rice, bland, overcooked rice with teeny tiny bits of red and green pepper but absolutely no flavoring. Mac and cheese would have been better if cook had added cheese and used water from BBQ chicken and pulled pork to give it some moisture. This is place for you if you want to sit at bar and drink in daycare/kennel but...
