Giovanni's New York Pizzeria — Restaurant in Sunnyvale

Always buy whole pizzas they are so much better than when you buy individual slices. There's something magical about their pepperoni pizza New York style thin crust with extra marinara sauce on the side to dip your slices in. I will drive 25 minutes each way for Giovanni's pepperoni pizza. There is no better got to try it but keep in mind whatever you do order a whole pizza not just a slice. I've had many other things off their menu as well such as the chicken piccata and some Italian sausage sandwich and quite a few other things and nothing has been disappointing everything's been good. But I got to admit I do hold their pizza on a pedestal for good reason. There's something about the type and brand of cheese that they use and the type and brand of pepperoni and how it's sliced I don't know but I can tell you I go there for the real deal. Highly recommended, and totally time tested for me personally been a die hard fan ever...

The restaurant is family owned, which gives service a nice and personal touch. Servers are friendly and always help with smiles.

My personal favourite is the fried calamari appetizer, which is served with marinara sauce. It is light and crispy, balancing perfectly with the marinara sauce.

Amazing pizza; thin crust and crispy! I typically order a custom New York style thin crust pizza. Tomato sauce is on point, and mozzarella cheese is stringy and not overwhelming. Sausage comes in thin strips rather than in small oblong pieces, which I like a lot. Fresh tomatoes are thinly sliced round pieces.

The restaurant is big and has two sides with several tables. If you sit near the kitchen, you may see the pizza chefs tossing dough, which is quite an enjoyable experience.

Giovanni's is located less than a mile from the hotel I checked into and a quarter mile from the Lawrence expressway. Another advantage of this location is the liquor store is next door to the business.

Based on the reviews, I gave it a try.

Pizza is simple. Dough. Sauce. Toppings.

Since I am a pizza connoisseur, I assure you the sauce is watered down tomato sauce and this must be frozen and thawed mozzarella cheese. Both were bland Although I favored the thin crust it had no back of crispness. My toppings were pineapple and jalapenos. At least I was able to pick these and make them useful in my tequila. Unfortunately, I would not recommend.
