The LBC Bottle Shop — Restaurant in Surf City

I am editing my review (see orig. below) after speaking with Kevin from 2 stars to 4 stars. We did NOT eat so hence no food rating. I don't want 1 "bad apple spoil the bunch" necessarily. So we will be back.

I'm cautiously optimisitic and curious to see if service improves due in part to online reviews.

We were there this past Sunday around 3pm. 2 bartenders were working: The male bartender stood near us but did NOT ask for our order. The young lady bartender came over and kindly took my order. Then the male bartender said "what do you want?" I said "no thanks" she's got my beer already.

He THEN said to us " these seats are for paying customers" I don't know where his attitude came from or his complete lack of people skills but it was Offensive.

I continued to watch him and he looked like he had a "chip on his shoulder". He alos surfed the "tip buckets" more than waiting on patrons...

Not the type of person I'd have working for me in that type of business.

Everything else was great!!

I'd rate it highly except for... His snyde comments, no kind words or smiling. His lack of people skills will unfortunately keep us from...

If you and your significant other have embraced the comforts of a late stage capitalist lifestyle in Hampstead but need some sort of "soul" in your life, this is the place you've been waiting for. Only reason food is 4*s instead of 5 is that it's only pizza, but it's great pizza. Probably the best cheese sticks you've ever had (hot honey is worththe extra dollar, trust me). An absolutely majestic live oak looms large over an outdoor seating area with whimsical lighting. You can kick back, have a beer, remind yourself that you're doing pretty good and you've earned it all, right? Haha sounds like you need another beer if you're second guessing yourself now. Luckily the selection is diverse, with NA selections as well, not that you'll need them because with your conscience you'll need something...

This place is super rad and has a really cool vibe. Beer selection on tap is good, bottle selection inside is really good, pizza options are quite tasty, and the staff is amazing. I met and spoke with one of the management team (not sure if he was the GM or some other role), and he was cool to talk to. This is a really neat, low-key, place to go on an early Sunday afternoon; it looks like it might be a little more happening at nighttime. They have live music on a regular basis, which is also amazing for this area. They are quite welcoming to families with kids as well, so that was perfect for us.
