The food wasn’t good at all, it was extremely bland, everything tasted like lukewarm tap water. The seafood boil was just barely over cooking temperature as if everything was just blanched with hot water rather than thoroughly boiled piping hot & steaming, as a matter of fact every food product served was like this, which makes me feel uneasy about food safety, the charred oysters tasted just like their namesake, charcoal, carbon, caked with burnt, tasteless cement textured Parmesan cheese caked on bland tiny oysters. The garlic noodles were bland & flavorless just your run of the mill cheap variety pack of noodles served literally swimming in a bowl of the same butter sauce they use for everything else, with hefty heaps of the cheap minced garlic found in jars at the grocery store, also served luke warm & by a server who wasn’t ours, handing it to our table with her thumb practically inside the bowl of noodles, this irked me seriously, this individual seemed to have no idea about food safety, food handling, or customer service, as they just said a couple words & just walked off (this person needs to be retrained or given a job they can do competently) the bright side, our real server was awesome, & the drinks were decent. Given the bland nature of the food at this establishment, it seems they cater to the elderly population, as they look to be the bulk of their customer base, nothing wrong with that, our elders need spaces where they can go to be social, safe & enjoy themselves. However, I personally will not be returning to this restaurant or patronizing any of the other Angry Crab establishments. Other than that, as I previously stated, our server was great, & was the only highlight of this experience. I don’t recommend, advice for Angry Crab, get new cooks or revamp your menu, I forgot to add, that my guest took 3 bites of the shrimp & grits and could not finish it, it was just that awful, you don’t pour seafood boil in grits to season them, that is not what that product is designed for, it’s used to boil shellfish. Very...
Read moreTldr; first trip sucked. Second trip was great. Make sure your food comes in a bag for even flavor distribution. Ask for Jason, if he's working. Plan to spend a lot of money, it's not cheap. My * rating is based on my second trip.
My first time coming to this location was terrible. I ordered a the 70$ seafood combo with a spice level of 3. It didn't not come in a bag but rather a deep plate. The sauce was not evenly distributed and ended up being a ton of oil and no real flavor. My wife and kids ordered bags with level 2 and both were spicier and more flavorful. Ended up spending 250$ for a plate of oil covered seafood. The service was also subpar, the server never returned after bringing out the food until everyone was done which was frustrating as I couldn't ask for some extra spice powder on the side and nobody could get a drink refill. All in all it was rough and I did not plan to return.
Edit: round two... My wife who was 8.75 months pregnant at the time and heard that spicy food can help enduce labor wanted to go back
My second trip I ordered a bag with the same ingredients as the combo I ordered on the previous trip and upped the spice to a 5. It was perfect! The spicy was intense, treading that line of painful but the flavor was great with the seafood. Lesson learned there was make sure your food comes in a bag and not a plate here. I recommend the sausage add on to the bag. Lots of flavor and you get four pieces of sausage for just a couple bucks. The sever (Jason) was awesome. He was super nice and perfectly attentive. He even let me try the spice level 6 which was greatly appreciated. Still spent about 250 bucks so a dinner here is by no means cheap but hey it's seafood in the desert so no...
Read moreOverall I genuinely love going to angry crab it’s one of my favorite places to eat. On this particular evening I decided to go have dinner with friends. I got a server by the name Dennis. He was pleasant at first but overtime I started to get a little uncomfortable because I felt like he was ignoring our table because of my outward appearances. As I stated prior this isn’t the first time I’ve been to this establishment so I wasn’t expecting to be disregarded. I believe it took him about 20 minutes or longer to actually come to our table to check to see if we were ready to order. At this point of time I was very aggravated and didn’t even want to eat because he had just sat a table across from us and started taking their order as if we hadn’t been waiting for him for about 20-25 minutes or longer. I understand if you get busy I work in the restaurant business as well. Some type of communication on if “he was running behind “ but nothing legit no eye contact from Dennis as he walked passed our table numerous times before sitting that table across from us and taking their orders while we were still waiting for about close to half an hour to order. The only time we were acknowledged was when we ordered drinks just to and that’s it. I normally don’t like to leave bad reviews but as mentioned before I always come to this particular location and I just don’t want anyone to have an uncomfortable evening like i experienced with Dennis. I’m not staying I won’t be back to eat at the establishment but it definitely left a sour...
