Happened to dine here today as Oscar’s is closed for the week. It’s been on my mind to try; so I came to have a late lunch. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and bright. I ordered water and a Sprite ($3.20) while looking at the menu. My selection was their Sweet & Sour Shrimp ($15.30) and for ($4.50) additional I added a cup of Egg Drop Soup and an Egg Roll. The soup arrived, and was quite good. A nice balance of broth with egg. As soon as I had finished the soup, the egg roll arrived. Hot, crispy, and quite good. It came with a small bowl of the neon red sweet & sour sauce. Not my ideal style of sauce. It’s more sweet than sour. Upon finishing the egg roll my entree arrived. It was rather unusual being rings of shrimp coated in a nice batter on a bed of shredded cabbage. A bowl of white rice was served with the dish, and more of the neon red sweet & sour sauce. It was fine. Generous amount of shrimp. I was asked how everything was as each part of my meal was brought to the table. I had to be honest in the end saying that the entree would be better had it been prepared with pieces of tomatoes, bell peppers, and pineapple chunks. That’s the style I’m use to. I was told that’s not how they do it; so it’s understandable that no consideration be made. They’re content with it as they choose. I was honest saying I’d never order that again then. There are other options on the menu I’d try… Moo Goo Gai Pan is one that I should have ordered. The one part of service that concerned me is when my check with my card was picked up. The lady took it to another table while taking another customer’s order, and answering questions. If you’re going to do that, leave my check and card at my table until you’re ready. Not a secure way of checking out. Before leaving I used the men’s room. It’s clean, but they have storage in the stall. Parking is free, and plenty of spaces. Not the best experience in dining, but not very bad as well. Only disappointment is in the entree that I should have read more into the menu’s description. A lesson in “do not assume” anything, or take for granted. My check after tax...
Read moreMy first review is below. However, we came back and afterwards I would say from that experience that I would not recommend this place! I thought it was a fluke that there wasn't a lot of meat in our meals ... But it was not. I had ordered mushu chicken this time which definitely was the weirdest mushu chicken I've had in my life! It was more like cabbage with a little pieces of chicken in it that smelled not so great. And the tortillas were flour tortillas not little crepe like wraps. We also got sweet and sour chicken which tasted good but made you feel terrible afterwards. The chicken was over breaded and super teeny inside. It tasted more like Chinese donuts.. Which is delicious but it's not sweet and sour chicken.
I wish I felt differently... But the prices that they charge and the amount of meat that that you find in your meal is unacceptable.
We had a take-out experience for dinner. Positive: Food is excellent. Great flavor. Huge portions. Also for a $4 charge you can get a side of lo mein with the meat of your choice instead of white rice. I really like this because we could have chicken lo mein without having another huge portion. Egg drop soup was delicious and came with crunchy noodles.
Negative: $1 convenience fee if you order online. This baffles me considering they don't have to take orders on the phone... But it is what it is. Their kung pao chicken although it had tons of veggies and was deliciously seasoned was very scarce with the chicken. We probably had about eight small chicken strips.
I would highly recommend this place! We...
Read moreWe randomly found Good Fortune while looking for somewhere new to eat. We had high hopes but unfortunately we probably won't order here again. We got an order of 2 egg rolls, chinese donuts, orange chicken with plain lo mein, general tsos chicken with plain fried rice and chinese donuts.
The online ordering was nice and easy, I loved that. Food was ready right on time and nice and hot. Everything was packaged nicely too, also a plus.
Walked in and the restaurant was fairly empty (maybe only 2 or 3 tables full) and was greeted very nicely and helped very quickly. Great service!
Orange chicken was on the bland side and the sauce was way too runny. I think if the sauce was thicker it would have coated the chicken better and had more flavor. Even spooning extra sauce on didnt help as it just ran right off the chicken. The portion was decently sized for both the chicken and the lo mein. The lo mein noodles were the tastiest part of my meal.
Same went for the general tsos chicken. Sauce was too thin but my hubby did not care much for the flavor anyway. His plain fried rice was overcooked so the rice was a bit mushy and very sticky. Lacked a little on the flavor too. White rice would have been a better choice and saved a dollar.
Egg rolls were on the small side and seemed more like a spring roll size. They tasted good but I wish it would have been a little larger for the price.
Not the worst chinese we have had but for the 65+ bill it is not enticing enough...
