The Hive is, in essence, still Mundos -- same coffee, same treats, same recipes -- which is great, considering the original owners are a lovely family. But it's a little perplexing: the space has changed hands, yet everything remains the same. If the rebrand had you anticipating something fresh, vibrant, or bee-themed, the stark all-white aesthetic might feel jarringly sterile. It's reminiscent of a hospital -- evoking confinement over calm -- and doesn't quite foster the warmth or sense of community I'd hope for in a coffee shop.

We highly recommend a visit if you're in...

The coffee and loose lea tea were very high quality, which honestly isn't all that common to find. The owner and baristas were super friendly and knowledgeable. And the environment was so cozy and inviting that we ended up staying for a couple hours to read there. There's even a garage door that opens up on nice days to give an amazing indoor-outdoor feel, which let in a really nice breeze. Really hope we get the chance to...
