March 4, 2023 This is the first time worst Indian restaurant we ever eaten because me and Punjabi boyfriend had lunch this restaurant . we excited to eat authentic Indian cuisine because finally after long days of being hungry to eat both decided already finding a Indian restaurant but this is not what we expected when here this day . we’re so disappointed too much because when starting we’re ordering the food they give us plate without forks and spoons not all people use they’re hands . so I just told my boyfriend we wait because maybe they’ll give us later but then that’s not we expected they’re not give us spoons and forks . So we just have use a spoons when they serving the food with spoons 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🙄🙄 . When they starting serve the food “ Aloo Gobi , shrimp biryani is three pieces only and vegetable biryani “ it’s nothing taste like a biryani and aloo Gobi also nothing taste 🤨🤦🏻♀️🙄 so very bad it’s disgusting looks like they mixed up the taste only one same way they cooked and then we had order the “sweet lassi” like a water they give us too much ice and then the masala chai “tea” very bad taste no sugar 😔😟 it’s so horrible Indian restaurant then we spend $76 only 3 dishes 😳😨 2 cups of tea instead we tell them only one 🤦🏻♀️
I’m telling you the truth about this restaurant as my review . This real bad experience me and my boyfriend had lunch if you don’t believe it’s up to you . Try it so you will know what taste there food 😓🤦🏻♀️😔...
Read moreI rarely eat Indian cuisine - not because I don’t enjoy it but because I’m not familiar with most dishes and haven’t taken the time to do so. I decided to give it a shot and it was worth every penny.
My boyfriend and I were the only guests at the restaurant at 8pm but there were several people who’d come in for take out orders. Our waiter was very attentive, he’d stand at the back of the dining area watching us and quickly come over if we needed refills, etc.
I ordered the lamb tikka masala and it was delicious. All the right flavors, not too spicy but had a good kick. The only down side was that it didn’t have much lamb but I guess that’s common. My boyfriend had a chicken dish that had much more meat in it. I ate the masala on top of rice and with garlic nan on the side. I’m a huge bread lover and I didn’t even bother eating the bread with the masala because it was so good just by itself.
Our waiter recommended mango drinks for our dinner and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a thicker juice, I was caught off guard and wasn’t sure if I’d like it but I ended up finishing it all. It tastes like real fruit and if sugar is added, it definitely isn’t a lot.
This was the first time in about 5 years that I’ve had Indian food and I’m already wanting to go back to try the very popular...
Read moreComing from the UK I eat curry regularly and have many Indian friends whom I eat Indian great Indian food with. There are also many good Indian choices in the area, Basil India and Turmeric in St Louis to name just two.
India’s oven is not one of these good restaurants though, instead I would describe it as providing by far the worst Indian curry I’ve had.
Why? Curry sauce was as thin as water, meat pieces were incredibly small (9x1cm chunks, some chunks were pure fat) and it was the the blandest most unappealing sauce I’ve ever had. I did not finish it and ended up throwing it away. We ordered two ‘different’ curries, which tasted exactly the same as each other, bland. The other above issues were consistent with both.
When I called to highlight these issues, although they were friendly there was an apparent lack of care. I understand these issues happen but i did expect some action, apology and discount, which I would have been happy with. This review then likely wouldn’t have been written.
I highly suggest to the owners that you visit the above restaurants and work out how their food is vastly superior, yet they can charge less.
Finally, if you are looking for good curry on this side of the river I would suggest Taj Indian Cuisine in...
