Well here I am with another update! Don't waste your time here. And don't waste your time with the app either. I don't know if the app glitched or just doesn't work properly at this location, but I had customized my burgers, which then didn't show up on the receipt the store received, so I didn't get my customizations. Whatever, fine, no big deal. So I go inside to get it corrected, and the store manager starts telling me I'm stupid and didn't customize the burgers. I'm not some idiot, I know how to work an app and I know for a fact I did customize them. It showed up on the app until the pay screen so I know for sure it was on there. But such unprofessional behavior from the manager just blows my mind. I will not be returning to this location, ever. It is not worth it. Food was great today, but the Swansea McDonald's is the WORST in terms of service. We walked up to the counter and stood there for a good minute or two before a very sloppy (not at ALL professionally dressed, wearing sweatpants and a winter coat) girl slowly walked up to us, looking like she was about to pass out of boredom. She stopped us every couple seconds throughout our entire order to make us repeat ourselves or to attempt to correct us on something (we ordered a 10-piece nugget meal and she tried to tell us that there's only a 4, 6 or 20 but no 10, although I order a 10 every time we go here, not to mention it was up on the screens as well). Then she couldn't figure out how to order a big mac meal and had to call the manager over, who had to enter the entirety of the order for her, after some other chick came over to try to help (but she didn't know what she was doing either, so wound up leaving it to the manager). We finally got through the order and went to wait, and shouted across the restaurant holding a bag in hand, "did you want this for here?" I nodded yes and they took everything out of the bag and put it on a tray, and as I walked with the tray a woman shouted at me again, "did you want sweet'n'sour sauce with those nuggets?" Again, I turned and said yes before the sauces were unceremoniously tossed onto my tray. Unfortunately, the McDonalds in Swansea IL is the closest to my home and on my way to most things. I typically go out of the way to another McDonald's to get my French fry fix, but for some reason keep trying and hoping for a positive experience out of this one. I managed fast food restraunts back in the day and know that it takes a lot of negligence from the owner and management to be this bad. The only thing consistent about this McDonald's is their poor customer service from clearly under trained and often rude employees. In the last four visits alone I received hamburgers so cold the cheese was still rigid, received the wrong order, and twice given fries that were at least 30 minutes old. I reluctantly accepted the bad service and poorly prepared food the majority of the times and only once asked for fresh food--when I did I was treated as if I was a major inconvenience to the crew. Tonight was the last straw for me...I was running late from work and ordered 3 combo meals for my family. It was after the dinner rush so I was fine when I was asked to pull forward to wait for frsh fries. I waited 10 minutes before I walked in to retrieve my order. When I went in the crew was in chaos--waiting on direction from their crew leader. When I finally got my order I went back to my vehicle and found that the reward for my wait and having to go in to get my order was again cold fries! How does that happen? I was the one and only vehicle waiting and received cold fries? I threw away the entire order and ordered car side ltake away from a local restaurant. Read morePlaced a mobile order at 3:01am, I arrived they told me they were closed before even asking what I needed. I told her I had an online order. The woman on the speaker said “well I don’t know what to tell you” the woman explained how they were closed from 3-5 to switch from dinner to breakfast, which I know is a complete lie because I have worked that exact shift before. Then some guy started talking over the speaker saying he hadn’t accepted the order, which I know is a lie because like I said I used to work there so I know the system and it doesn’t work like that. The man became argumentative then the female chimed back in, so I did call names, which I shouldn’t have done but what they’re doing is practically theft both from me and the store. I paid for something then never received it, and they’re standing around doing nothing. After I left, I called the store to really hear their whole lie, they said the store was closed from 3-5 and they had not accepted my order, I told the guy that I had worked that shift so I know orders do not get accepted they just appear on the screen, and that if the store wasn’t accepting orders then it would say so on the app. After I said that he then told me, “there is only 2 of us here, we chose not to accept this order” Crazy how management would allow staff to literally stand around doing nothing while on the clock, being paid. Then before the man hung up he said I was stupid, obviously he was mad that I had caught his lie. This was by far the WORST experience I’ve ever had with any McDonalds.
