Pedro's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Swansea

I had the worst dining experience. My waitress seemed like she really didnt want to work. She got our food order wrong and never corrected it. My wife asked for a Sprite 2 times and the girl just didn't get it. Luckily she got a water. I didn't get the waitresses name but she was the only skinny girl there with her makeup all done up including her super bright red lipstick. Everyone there, except her, was rushing around. So that set the mood, the food was another story. I am use to spicy Mexican food, everything has flavor to it. I usually get a choice of red or white sauce. I have never been served mexican food that was so bland. The ground beef tasted like it was steamed, no flavor and no grease. I managed to eat 1 ground beef enchilada after I smothered it in the salsa that is given with chips when you are seated. The salsa appears to be 95% tomato puree. I could drink the stuff. A bloody Mary has more flavor. The enchilada was gummy like it wasnt cooked and the meat was again less than desireable. Everything was covered in a reddish brown sauce that my wife said was out of the can enchilada sauce. I ladle of a good green chili sauce would have saved the meal. We were never offered desert. The waitress returned, mumbled something as she slid the paper receipt under my plate. I do not recommend the food and if you do go be weary of the skinny girl. Pedro's almost always hits the spot! Ive been a huge fan since it first opened and have eaten there more times than i can even guess! The atmosphere is welcoming, bright and colorful Mexicana Theme. The food?! I havent heard many complaints about anything thats ordered ( i stick to my favorites that i HIGHLY recommend; Entree=Fried Chicken Burrito, topped with red sauce and queso; Dessert= Flan! ) Not to mention how friendly and respectful the staff are and how great they balance making sure youre taken care of but not being too clingy. Boy was this a pleasent surprise. A deep fried chimichunga. Finally a place that knows how to do them. Very happy. Only gave 4 stars because I would like to see more onion in the salsa. Ice tea is made fresh. Rice was a little over done but we were there at 130 so that's ok. We will recommend and we will be back for sure. Outside is not much to look at as it may have been an old convience store before. Didn't use the restroom so don't know about them. Clean tables and floors.
