Firehouse Creamery in Downtown Sykesville is an absolute gem! Located in the heart of a scenic and lively area, it’s surrounded by charming local shops and a bustling farmers market that makes the whole spot feel vibrant and happening. The atmosphere is so welcoming—you instantly feel like you’re part of a thriving community.

The ice cream here is truly authentic and full of rich, creamy flavor. Each scoop tastes fresh and made with real, high-quality milk, offering a delightful variety of flavors that are both classic and unique. It’s the kind of local treat you can’t find just anywhere, and you can really taste the care and craftsmanship in every bite.

I loved that there’s both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can relax inside or enjoy your ice cream while soaking in the scenic views and lively street vibe. Whether you’re people-watching, catching up with friends, or just taking a quiet moment to enjoy the day, it’s the perfect spot.

If you’re in or around Sykesville, Firehouse Creamery is a must-visit. It’s the kind of place that captures the essence of a true small-town gem—authentic, delicious, and full of life. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a...

My son, who has spent one third of his life in quarantine, quietly asked me today for some ice cream. His eyes sparkled with endless excitement as I replied to him with a firm yes! Upon entering the Firehouse Creamery, one can instantly smell the fresh desserts and delicacies that are for sale. It was a sunny, mid-September afternoon that our growing two year old with his long sleeved, blue dinosaur shirt fixed his eyes on the chocolate ice cream from the famous Firehouse Creamery. With each satiating bite, our baby boy would stare off into the distance with a deep, complex satisfaction; as if he was an 80 year old highly accomplished old soul, drinking an ultra rare Highland or Islay scotch. With each bite, our little one would stare, smile, ponder and reflect. This experience, may just be the best memory our son has had in the past 7 or 8 months being in strict quarantine. Even the dinosaur on my son's shirt had an opportunity to taste the fantastic chocolate ice cream from the Firehouse Creamery. I can only applaud the employees and owners at Firehouse Creamery for a fantastic ice cream experience for a very...

Best ice cream in the entire eldersburg /Sykesville area! The ice cream comes from the local south mountain creamery and it is delicious. There are usually 12 to 16 awesome flavors to choose from and the serving size is massive. The prices are very reasonable and I have never had to wait in line for more than 5 minutes. They also have two refrigerators full of other South mountain creamery products (cream, cheese, meet, etc.). This is also the cleanest ice cream place I've ever been to. There is a small amount of seating inside the building plus plenty of seating outdoors on a patio that overlooks the train bridge (which my boys love) and the rest of Sykesville. We love this place so much it has become a permanent Sunday outing after our cross country meets. Oh, I almost forgot, the sprinkles are free (chocolate...

We stopped by for the first time today, and really enjoyed the ice cream. There are not as many flavors as in some shops, but I like that it is locally made. It was delicious, thick and creamy. I got mint chip and cold brew chip. I especially liked the strong coffee flavor of the cold brew ice cream. Others with me chose soft serve, and liked it. I was surprised to see that there were lots of free toppings available! There are many other local products as well, including bread, jams, dairy, meat, honey, and many other things. Definitely a great stop in Sykesville.
