Read moreI was very disappointed in the quality of service and the food. I drove 30 minutes away from Jessup, Md to come here thinking I was going to get some delicious Trinidadian food. First when I got there, they were not letting anyone in the store regardless if you had a face mask on, than you had to wait over 30 minutes outside for your food because they only had like one person working at the time. Now to the food, I ordered the boneless curry chicken dinner thinking that it came with the roti skin. I paid $30 for two meals than had to turn back and pay another $10 for 2 roti skins. The spinach I had tasted sour, it tasted like it was literally cooked in fish sauce. Than the plaintains were barely ripe, and the curry chicken was dry and not cooked authentically with a tasty gravy and potatoes. The rice was oily and everything had a bad after taste. My stomach was sick the whole day from eating sour food. The only thing that tasted good was the roti. This place has been around for over 30 years and my mom used to take me here as a child to get food. They have completely fell off and the food is expensive when they’re not giving you good quality fresh food. I hate to do reviews like this, but do not run a food business and take peoples money if you do not have the time to give people quality. The only thing that was good was the roti skin which is just...
Read moreI have been coming to this establishment since I was a little girl in the late 1980s. This place used to have the best roti, doubles, drops & currant rolls! My family is from Trinidad and when my daddy, granny or uncles didn’t cook, we’d always come here knowing the food would be nothing short of amazing deliciousness! Especially since we lived 5 minutes away during those times; it was a win for sure! Now my daddy, siblings & I are farther away in Potomac, Md & Frederick, Md. At least 3-4 times out of a year, one of us will stop by to order and carry back roti for all. Unfortunately, Caribbean Palace is not the same amazing deliciousness we used to know. The last few years the chicken roti and doubles have lacked flavor (curry old, roti shell not fresh, barely any potato or chicken & watered down pepper sauce). Also, the prices consistently go up while the size has dramatically decreased. My husband picked up 3 chicken rotis at $15 each and doubles at $4 each yesterday and they were small and tasted horrible! We will not be returning to our once favorited caribbean restaurant due to the inconsistency of...
