My husband always talks about his cultural food from Guyana and how his grandparents makes these delicious foods growing up. Today he found this place, Caribbean Palace, and we ordered to go. First off, soon as you walked in, you can smell the heavenly spices. I looked forward to tasting Guyanese food. My husband ordered their roti, with Curry shrimp, chickpea and spinach. I ordered the combination platter: Curry goat, Curry Beef, and Curry Chicken on white rice, with Chickpeas and Curry Potatoes, and a side of fried plantains. It was very flavorful especially after adding their homemade pepper sauce. We know next time to request extra "gravy".

Not sure why caribbean restaurants in the area are afraid to use salt. Caribbean Palace was the first place I had Trini food 5 years ago and was so disappointed. I decided to give them another try and the food was exactly the same. Tasteless. If you go to Trinidad, you’ll taste real Trini food. It has flavour and sauce that leave you wanting more. We have phrases in Tdad… the food lash so hard, it bruise! and make yuh lick d plate!! CP’s roti had no channa, very little potato and the smallest pieces of chicken. The doubles literally has no taste. I’d rather buy a ticket to tdad and get proper food than ever go there again.

Caribbean palace has been a staple in this area for a very long time. Let’s dig in, the location is rather busy but still manageable with plenty of parking. The staff was welcoming upon entrance, however some times not so friendly. I got the chicken with bone in roti and the flavors were on point. There could have been more filling inside of the roti however with it being so good that was the least of my worries. I would totally recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

On 12-07-2024, my friend and I wanted to get food from Cartibbean palace in Takoma Park, I spend 60.00 dollars in food , my friend spend around the same amount for her food, I got home my kids got there food , 1 hour my daughter said what the hell , the food was terrible, no taste , no flavor, she said who cooked this, then this morning my girl friend called to tell me she did not enjoy the food it had no flavor , and did not taste good. To the owner of carribbean place , first make sure the person at the register has a good welcoming smile and customer skills , the young lady who was at the register yesterday she look so sour , no smile, like if she did not want to be there, the curry Goat taste so fresh and not good at all, curry chicken no flavor, spinach no flavor just plain, the doubles could be better, the fridge was not stock, sodas, no banana solo, no apple J, or pear D, come on , if you want customers to support you taste your food before selling ,make sure it's tasting Great before selling , the roti was okay, when people spending their money they want to be able to say , the money was well spend. This comment is not to bash you ,but to let you know you got to do better if you want the public support. store apparence, great tasting food and great service is the key to a successful business. GOD bless you and your business, Happy Holidays and all the best for the ...

I was very disappointed in the quality of service and the food. I drove 30 minutes away from Jessup, Md to come here thinking I was going to get some delicious Trinidadian food. First when I got there, they were not letting anyone in the store regardless if you had a face mask on, than you had to wait over 30 minutes outside for your food because they only had like one person working at the time. Now to the food, I ordered the boneless curry chicken dinner thinking that it came with the roti skin. I paid $30 for two meals than had to turn back and pay another $10 for 2 roti skins. The spinach I had tasted sour, it tasted like it was literally cooked in fish sauce. Than the plaintains were barely ripe, and the curry chicken was dry and not cooked authentically with a tasty gravy and potatoes. The rice was oily and everything had a bad after taste. My stomach was sick the whole day from eating sour food. The only thing that tasted good was the roti. This place has been around for over 30 years and my mom used to take me here as a child to get food. They have completely fell off and the food is expensive when they’re not giving you good quality fresh food. I hate to do reviews like this, but do not run a food business and take peoples money if you do not have the time to give people quality. The only thing that was good was the roti skin which is just...

I have been coming to this establishment since I was a little girl in the late 1980s. This place used to have the best roti, doubles, drops & currant rolls! My family is from Trinidad and when my daddy, granny or uncles didn’t cook, we’d always come here knowing the food would be nothing short of amazing deliciousness! Especially since we lived 5 minutes away during those times; it was a win for sure! Now my daddy, siblings & I are farther away in Potomac, Md & Frederick, Md. At least 3-4 times out of a year, one of us will stop by to order and carry back roti for all. Unfortunately, Caribbean Palace is not the same amazing deliciousness we used to know. The last few years the chicken roti and doubles have lacked flavor (curry old, roti shell not fresh, barely any potato or chicken & watered down pepper sauce). Also, the prices consistently go up while the size has dramatically decreased. My husband picked up 3 chicken rotis at $15 each and doubles at $4 each yesterday and they were small and tasted horrible! We will not be returning to our once favorited caribbean restaurant due to the inconsistency of...
