Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Takoma Park

Tried calling the store to find out if they were participating in the Tuesday Speials and I could never get the Store/Manager/Any worker to answer the telephone, So I go, Disabled as I am and I get to the store and ask for the $1.99 Breast and Wing Tuesday Special,, the cashier called the manager, the Manager, female, cordial, but with a lil "tude" I missed her name, badge turned around; she told me the store does not participate in the Tuesday special I found online and that there was a Tuesday Special for $5.69 Combo, That's not what I wanted, if someone would have answered the phone, I would have never, ever ventured out to get the Two Piece Tuesday Special I found online under this particular store! Be very wary of the Specials you find online and try to get at this store, now, at any Popeyes Restaurant. I even stood there and found it on my phone after telling the female manager what I found on my laptop at home,. Once I found it, she tried to take me to another site under her store to say that they didn't participate with that special, Actually, I found other specials that were even cheaper; she told me, "Ohm those are jus advertisements; one was $0.99, another $1.29 and another $1.49 (Dark) for two pieces of chicken, and the White meat, Breast and a wing for $1.99. She still insisted they didn't have that specialat her store, so I just told her to give me the $5.00 special with 4 pieces, Spicy so I could get out of that store and not argue with this manager who claims she's been there for 5 years as manager and working for the chain for 15 years; when I've been giving my money to this store since its inception on New Hampshire Ave, Takoma Park, MD for over 20 years!!!.. and she has come in and disrupted the flow of how it was for years with wonderful participation in all the specials that would be posted online, in store and on Television; not sure if I will give my money to this store much anymore, I will go to the one in Queens Chapel, MD next to the SFW. This location tends to be more miss than hit. But my last 2 experiences have led to me BOYCOTTING this location. Specifically, my last order. I ordered via the app. Went into the location to pick-up at the counter. The manager replied, "Oh the order with the extra deliciousness", upon hearing the name associated with the order. I thanked the representative helping me with my pick-up, and left. It wasn't until I got home that I realized the wing containers were not only smashed, cracked and open on the bottom but that the wing sauce had leaked all into the bottom of the bag and there were hard, black, plastic SPLINTERS of container commingled with the food. IT WAS APPARENT THE FOOD HAD BEEN DROPPED AND DAMAGED at some point during preparation, and not even repackaged--or re-prepared fresh and food safe.

What I received was literal trash, and given the manager's FACETIOUS remark, NEVER AGAIN will this popeyes location receive my money. No excuses for such outright unhygienic, lack of food safety, and downright lack of overall regard & respect.

It's been a few months since my last visit (December 2023); due to my utter disgust and frustration, it took me a while to write this review. And, had I not been so upset at the time, I would have thought to take pictures before placing the garbage I received in the trash--where it belonged. This establishment is ran horrible!!!! Me being a MANAGER in the fast food industry really feels like Upper Management needs to GET INVOLVED! and see what's going on in their store. From Mr.Lance on down! There is no structure, no team work, no communication. Especially Teresa because she's disrespectful to PAYING CUSTOMERS as myself I was told by Teresa to "mind my business" when I made a comment on how they treat their workers bad and how she as a Assistant Manager doesn't know what's going on in her own store. NOT to mention I WAS NOT TALKING TO HER!! What establishment releases schedules at 11P.M. on Sunday when people have to be in there at 8AM. Kayla makes the schedule and it goes through Mr.Lance but yet when asked they never know what's going. Somebody isn't doing their job and I feel bad for the workers there because if u don't kiss @$$ u dont get hours and instead of them terminating you get the run around because they don't want to pay you unemployment. Whoever the District Manager is over that store needs to come visit more often because when they hate when she comes because even they KNOW they are not doing what they are suppose to be doing!
