Wendy's — Restaurant in Takoma Park

Just had the displeasure of experiencing Wendy's carryout service. Needlessly stressed and annoyed at simply trying to pick up food I had already prepaid.

Firstly, the employee at the stand, Victoria, called out a BLT carryout order for another customer, which little did I know was actually my Jr Bacon Cheeseburger order that she had mistaken.

After initially being told that they didn't have my order in the system, Victoria proceeds to tell me she found my order and that it's already gone out.

Bit annoying but okay, just hand me the drink cup so I can wait while you prepare my order. Victoria looks at me annoyed and incredulous, and just repeats that it's already gone out.

I tell her yes, but I don't have the food that I paid for, so I would like a refund or a replacement. Simple concept, I give you money, you give me food. I gave you money and you gave me no food, so give me food.

Victoria appeared to be completely stumped by this arrangement and just angrily repeated that the order had been made and gone out, so their obligation to me was now over.

I started to get truly irritated and felt my inner Karen coming out as I started asking for a manager and raising my voice out of utter disbelief at the sheer gall to just take my money in exchange for nothing and then promptly tell me to buzz off.

Thankfully a more experienced employee with red hair and braids immediately calmed me down and told me she would handle it. Much to the chagrin of Victoria. That's why it's 2 stars and not one. Unlike Victoria, she reacted swiftly, professionally, and de-escalated the situation.

Even after this employee tried explaining to Victoria that a person is entitled to a replacement if they never received their order she kept arguing and made me feel completely unwelcome for the crime of ordering at Wendy's.

I visited to place an order for some salads. I specifically requested the taco salad, the pecan salad, and the Cobb salad, asking for ranch dressing on all of them. I repeated this request three times. When I approached the counter to pay, I reminded them that I had ordered ranch for all my salads. The young woman responded with a dismissive gesture, and the young man also displayed a negative attitude, which made me feel as though I was being unreasonable. Upon returning home, I discovered that they had not included the ranch dressing, prompting me to go back to the restaurant. Unfortunately, I was met with a similar attitude during my return. I have visited this location three times and have consistently experienced poor customer service. Despite this, it is the nearest option, and my family enjoys Wendy's. However, the service has been extremely disappointing. They need to improve their customer service skills, as they frequently forget my requests and respond unkindly when I remind them.
