The only reason I'm not giving this wonderful out-of-the-way diner a 5-star is the disappointing service. My wife had a steak sandwich, I had grilled Cajun chicken. We also had onion rings. Food was terrific, onion rings could not possibly have been better. Restaurant was clean and we'll maintained. Our server knew the menu well, got our orders when we were ready and wasn't pushy...once we received our meal it was difficult to get her attention...would have liked Tabasco for the chicken (even though it was fantastic without it), tried several times to get refills on coffee and water before finally getting the busser to get the refills. No dishes were removed from the table, but we did receive our check the 2nd time she came to the table...which was also the last time. We will be back next time we are near here. It is actually worthy of a side trip if you anywhere close, and the scenery around Talihina is...

I can't comment on the food, just the customer service. My wife and I walked in to the restaurant during the Talihena Fall Foliage Festival. They were very busy so we stood inside the front door and waited... and waited... and waited... We were prepared for a wait so it was no big deal until about 10 minutes into our wait and not a single staff member had acknowledged our presence, although several walked past us more than once and even made eye contact. Wife tried to stop a staff member to about an empty table for two we saw in the back corner and was interrupted before she got two words out. The girl just said, "I'm busy right now, and scurried off. I understand busy , but it would have only taken a second to let us know they knew we were there and we would have waited for as long as it took. With that said, we had a wonderful lunch at the diner a few doors...

Servers were nice and helpful. The restaurant has a nice, small town vibe to it with locals dining. It's located in a strip on the street with other buildings. There is a for sale sign hanging in the window. As you are waiting for your food, make sure and read the signage through out. It's funny and fun. I got a burger and onion rings. Definitely a pass on the onion rings. It wasn't your crispy batter and the rings were more of a rubbery than crispy. The burger had the buttery bun and was your diner good burger. My daughter had the catfish dinner. She cleaned her plate. The catfish looked crispy and the crinkle fries were on point. I kept taking a few of hers to make up for my onion rings. Her meal also came with a garden salad and a basket of crackers! Prices are super cheap. $16 for our meal. So make sure and tip...

Talihina is a rather small town which you hit at the end of the beautiful, picturesque drive along the Talimena Scenic Drive starting from Hochatown Broken Bow (thru Ouachta National Forest)..... Not many restaurants in this town, but this Pam's Diner stands out among others. We two families took our lunch at this restaurant after the long scenic drive. Restaurant doesn't have much options for vegetarians / vegans (which we were). However, among available options, chose burger with salad, The restaurant was managed by women, extremely well, taking care of customers. The interior of the restaurant (walls, especially) is beautifully decorated with several wall hangings, pictures and quotes.... Spent good time!

The Hateful Hussy Diner (Pam’s), caught our eye with its unusual signage. Very cute and rednekky decor. Featuring pix and old stuff about Cowboys and Indian (Native American) life. We ordered a burger(extremely tasty and old fashioned) also the Chef salad. Ranch dressing came in a foot tall squeeze bottle. Our waitress got irritated because we had a question about the menu. Turned and walked away as we were talking to her. Werrry Veeeerd. Most likely The Hateful Hussys’ daughter. Towards the end of our stay, she did do a 180…(tip inspired?)???…but by then it was too late. O well…food was good and reading all the funny plaques was worth the stop.
