A Surprisingly Pleasant Dining Experience!

A Surprisingly Pleasant Dining Experience!

We were looking for a new place to try, and I'm so glad we found this one! The host and hostess were super nice as soon as we walked in the door. We were a little early for our reservation, but they seated us immediately. (The seat in the booth needed to be recovered, but it wasn't horrendous.) Our waitress (Azaria) came right over and got our drinks and asked if we had questions. Being our first visit, we had plenty. She was so super nice and helpful. She gave us a few minutes and came back to get our order. Azaria came back to the table with an order of their pretzels because she thought it was taking a while for our food. As she was grabbing the pretzels, she realized our food was being plated and that it would be out in a few minutes. My husband ordered the ribeye, and I ordered the filet. Our steaks were both cooked perfectly, and my baked potato was SO good. It wasn't like most that have been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. The inside was light and fluffy, and the jacket was perfectly seasoned and not rubbery at all! It was such a great experience. We will absolutely be back! Their menu has a little of everything, but it's not overwhelming. You will NOT leave hungry or disappointed.

We had the absolute pleasure of attending the four-course wine pairing dinner featuring the exquisite menu created by Executive Chef Danny and team at Stonewood Grill & Tavern, and it was nothing short of spectacular! Every dish was a masterpiece, perfectly crafted to complement the Stag’s Leap wines. From the creamy, indulgent Arancini di Risotto paired with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc to the vibrant Autunno Salad topped with Argentinian red shrimp and paired with Chardonnay, each bite was a journey of flavors. The highlight for us was the Cabernet Braised Short Ribs—fall-apart tender and served over luxurious tagliatelle, perfectly enhanced by Stag’s Leap Cabernet Sauvignon. The finale, The Poached Pear, was a divine balance of sweetness and spice, paired beautifully with sparkling wine. Chef Danny’s creativity and skill shine through in every dish, and his ability to pair food and wine so seamlessly is truly remarkable. This event has left us eager to return for future wine dinners to explore more of his culinary genius. Highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves great food, wine, and an unforgettable evening!

The restaurant is pretty and upscale. The service of the waiters was lacking. We went there for an office Christmas party and were seated in the middle of the restaurant, taking up a large portion of it. Our group had our own special group menu which is nice that they have the option. 20 or so of those special menus were piled on top of the table we were seated at in front of two of the guests. Appetizers were even served without removing the large and heavy pile of menus off of our table. The guests (my husband and I), slid them over to try and get them out of the way. Eventually I grew exasperated and stacked them up on a vacant chair. They were eventually removed and apologized for when our drinks were brought out about 20 minutes after we had been sitting there.

We saw the waiter once for a drink refill while delivering the food and then not again until the desserts were brought out. The food was good although only warm and not brought out piping hot. I believe the desserts (cakes) are ordered in and not made on the premises. Therefore they're just okay, anyone's homemade cakes will likely be better.

Towards the end of dinner, when our group started mingling and taking photos, the waiters came over and asked if we would be sitting much longer because they had another large group they wanted to put there. While we were finishing our desserts, they worked on clearing the tables and cleaning the location. We gathered our things and visited the other tables to say goodbyes. The other large group was seated at our tables about 5 minutes after we had gotten up. It caused the uncomfortable cluster as we all awkwardly stood around the open area in the way of the servers as we tried to say goodbye to each other. My husband and I were especially in the way with a large stroller that had been tucked into the corner.

I guess there's a time limit on their group tables or something but at any rate, I found it incredibly rude to be dismissed outright like that after our group spent a small fortune there. The new group that was seated (almost as we were still getting up and gathering belongings) stared at us like we were in their way. The waiters awkwardly squeezed around everyone to try and hand out menus to the new group while trying to avoid us (the old unwanted group). The whole situation was uncomfortable and was handled unprofessionally. Just the waiters staring stupidly at us and bumping into our group as they tried to serve the new group, no manager around to help smooth the transition at all. With the food being just okay and also pretty pricey and then with the rude and just okay dinner service of the wait staff, I know I...

We have always enjoyed going to Stonewood for occasional date nights due the service and food generally being excellent. I was excited when my hubby made reservations on March 1, 2025 for our anniversary dinner at Stonewood. From the moment we walked in we could tell things were different, from the host/ hostess staff, to people being told they were running at least 60 minutes behind to additional inaccurate information. While our reservations were for 7:30 we were not seated at our table until closer to 8:20. As we enjoyed appetizers in the bar with an awesome team of servers in the bar while we waited for a table, that is where anything good ended. We were seated in Anna’s section. It took her over 20 minutes for her to even acknowledge us and an additional 15 minutes just to bring my husband a sweet tea. Later when he asked for a refill she totally forgot and had to ask again. Once we ordered our meals they came out 35 minutes later. The broccoli was cold and appeared uncooked. The rest of the food was ok. The lack of service that Anna provided left us wishing we had just celebrated our anniversary in the bar as the service was much better, but as it was our anniversary a nice cozy table was more appropriate. Though my hubby, who is normally very quiet, even shared with our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, no one even acknowledged we were there for a special occasion, and we left saying we wished we would have made reservations elsewhere. We had hoped for the normal impeccable service that we had come to know at Stonewood and to make a wonderful memory celebrating our anniversary. Instead, the evening was spent working hard to track down our waitress and constantly following up to ask her to do her job, not being able to relax or enjoy our...

In '2021 Stonewood Grill and Tavern established a favorite 'watering-hole' to our neighborhood of Tampa Palms.

There were soooooo many great staff members and at the Helm, General Manager, Dan. He made you feel as if you were home.

Unfortunately, the quality of food - now served cold and incredibly salty, has deteriorated to my making the difficult decision to refrain from visiting. What was a great stop to work and eat healthy has demonstrated to me - at least - that I'm intruding.

Staff is friendly with one another. But not "SOME PATRONS." They no longer ask you, "how's everything?"

They place the food with not much consideration and after a Pandemic-supporting-Door Dash-Orders with great loyalty, in person visits have been unfavorable. In August I visited and was served an 'extremely' bony-portion of Salmon. Tonight's Scallops and Shrimp were no longer served seperately but shrimp salted then grilled was wrapped around overcooked scallops. What happened? Their food was amazing, just last year.

I no longer have $50 plus to throw away as I listen to the staff swear and slam their family members behind the bar.

Sad how low the 'proverbial' bar is now at this wonderful restaurant.

Hopefully the Orlando locale hasn't deteriorated in quality and personality.

Not one person engaged in my visit to gauge if I was satisfied...Wendy's takes your order and gives you a check. Yet, they at least ask if you need anything else. I never thought I'd compare the two.

Wow, wow, wow, #SuperDissapointed in Stonewood Grill's Service 12/29/2022!!!!!

One salty flavored scallop and shrimp meal that fruit chutney from my home will need to make...
