This morning I placed the same breakfast order I"ve placed the last 20 yrs. (It was burned, cold & missing items).
I called in my order. instead of charging me the additional charges (which I expected to pay) for my substitutions, the new staff, simply didn't include a few items.
When I went to explain, she cut me off and I got upset at her inability to do such a simple job... I normally don't get this upset but after speaking w/the owner. I realize he allowed her to keep talking nonsense behind him while he was addressing the situation with me. I went ahead and asked for the items I needed, paid, for anything extra, paid a $5.00 tip to the cook and a $5.00 tip to an experienced server who came to help and who showed her skills at the art of customer service. It's not just about the money or even the food, its its about the overall experience.
Today, I lost respect for the owner & an interest in ever going back. Cold food but, Overcooked EGGS, burned bacon, TOAST, & HOME FRIES aren't worth having to experience an unnecessary encounter with an unskilled & unprofessional worker.
Maybe this experience will push her to improve her life so she can be in a career that will not have her snapping at customers. She was making jokes & laughing as I waited for our corrected order, but the irony is actually; that the joke is really on her. I was once in her place & now have 2 masters degree and a world full of choices & opportunities. She makes a choice to be there.
I wont bother with this place after this experience. Most of the experienced service professionals have passed away or retired. The few left aren't always available. Not worth dealing with new unskilled staff.

The owner may not have the skills to properly train his staff or council then, so he should also learn from his own mistakes when hiring & managing.

There were two older white gentlemen sitting at the back of the dine in area conversing. A gentleman was seated next to me waiting for his carry out. A older white women comes in and is greeted with grandeur and thanked for her business this morning. The gentleman seated next to me who was waiting for his carry out was also thanked with great appreciation for supporting their business. When I was called to pay for my food and went to exit the restaurant became very quiet and nothing was said. A older African American gentleman walked in and greeted me with a warm good morning and I went about my business. I noticed that he came back out quickly with a bag in hand. I stopped to Alex him if e received any form of greeting when he entered it a thank you when he exited by the gentleman in the restaurant and he said no. He drives for UBER eats and frequents there for customers but said that each time that he goes that same gentleman is there and acts coldly towards him. He said that he thought it was just him that felt awkward going in there. I told him I felt the same. I am a 1st generation African American female of Cuban decent and I was actually quite offended at the fact that they list themselves as a “Cuban” business but act the way that they do to those who are not “white” in appearance. My family ranges from blonde hair blue eyes to very dark skin with dark eyes but we are PROUD Cuban descendants nonetheless. This further shows how much our country continues to digress. Racism is more blatant and people are less apologetic and more forward regarding their thoughts and actions regarding it. My 16 year old had a gift card from earlier this year from a birthday!! She OFFERED to pay for the food. She didn’t have to but she chose to!! Food it’s gone down hill. This is my husband’s to go place for breakfast and sandwiches!! Now is where I am fuming!! She used said card for 40 dollar purchase including a tip for take out food!! This location was the last purchase before next purchase. Later in the day she wanted to purchase something with this said card!! Tried to buy items card declined!! Wait what she called to check balance before going to said store she had over 50 something dollars left on said card!! You have thief’s working for you and have a gambling problem. The last big purchase made was at your location!! I will post receipts!! Yes times are hard if it was my money alone I would chalk it up and just eat the money taken!! You might have needed it more than me! I’m pissed because my child was stolen from. The embarrassment she had trying to by items for Christmas. She had 2.43 left one the card and I covered the rest!!
