Taco De Oro Authentic Mexican Food Cart — Restaurant in Tampa

I've tried Taco De Oro one time, and they had me hooked. It's a trailer in the parking lot of the Mobile gas station on Florida and Linebaugh. It's pretty easy to overlook. I tried this hot spot for street tacos when my friend and his family grabbed tacos for themselves and I. It was an economic based choice as well as one driven by tastes. I want to say they cost 2.00, which is more than affordable for most. The tacos were filling and well seasoned . I remember them having some of the more daring menu choices like lingua, but I stuck to beef to keep it simple(that's what my friend ordered for his fam). The beef choice also gives me the best picture of how they stack up to competitors.

I can say this, they stack up very well. This place is a must try in my book. Based on the price and flavors I'll be back there...

First time trying this business. Not really impressed with its location. Upon walking up, had to stand for several minutes before I was seen by staff member. Menu online is NOT up to date with current prices. Tacos are now 2.75 each, and they no longer have Taco Tuesday special pricing. Placed my order easily and was told 'about 10 minutes'. It was ready in 8. Same staff member that took my order also handed me my food and drink. She did not EVER say thank you. How rude. Not during payment, not when handing me my food. The tacos were good. I thought the meats I ordered had flavor. I also liked the cup of green sauce. The limes provided for the tacos were dried out. Even though the tacos were good, I won't be back. Who says Mexican Food outside a gas station can’t be authentic. This place is about as real as it gets outside of San Diego. My carne asada burrito was huge for under $10 and enough for 2 meals. A lot of times places under season their meat, not this place, it was perfectly seasoned as were all the layers. And sometimes places skimp on meat and put more rice, beans and lettuce. Again not this place! It was mostly meat with everything else in just the right portions. I highly recommend coming to here and grabbing a mandarin soda to wash it down. Definitely coming back soon.
