First off, the name has changed to "Tampa RV Park", which is at the same address. Good Sam rated 6-7-8. I don't know who rated this park, but it was poorly done. ||||Showers: They leave the door open almost constantly, I think partially because there is no exhaust fan. When the door is propped open, you look into the shower stalls. I don't care if there is a little curtain or not, didn't like that, so would close the door. Shower stall is relatively clean. Be careful of the hot water piping, I accidentally touched the hot water pipe coming out of the wall and got burnt. ||||Toilet: The stalls are so tiny, I had to leave the door unlocked to sit down and get up from the toilet because my knees hit the door if I didn't. Toilet area relatively clean, although there was brown stuff on the inside of the door that never got cleaned off, hopefully bug leavings.||||Laundry: I was here over a month. One washer was always out of order, leaving 3. One dryer was always out of order, leaving 3. One washer leaks constantly, making the floor wet as the drain is in front of the washers where you walk. They close the laundry at night and open it up at 8AM. I like to do mine in the earlier morning hours, but was not able to. Talked to another camper that said they closed it because they were afraid of someone stealing the machines...really, broken machines and machines that are practically worn out. She also said they have homeless come in all the time during the night using the bathrooms and they have no way to stop that...well, they could put electronic locks on the doors like the majority of RV parks do...||||Noise: Oh my gosh! Trains that blow their horn for 30 seconds straight, twice a night. Sets on a main intersection, so emergency vehicles are constantly going through the intersection with sirens going and honking their horns. EVERY DAY! From once a day to six times a day. Very disrupting to sleep and overall enjoyment. Trash pick up is very early in the morning, twice a week and very loud.||||Pets: They allow pets, which are supposed to be on leashes, and owners are supposed to pick up after them. Saw several instance where this didn't happen. But worse than that is the multitude of "campground cats". The cats were always thinking the sand beside my patio was their litter box - yuck. Or they would sit on the vehicles, don't like that either.||||DVD's/Books: They have a medium sized collection of DVD's in the office, along with some books. Nothing spectacular, but it is there if you need it.||||Rule Enforcement: Practically non-existent. Their rules say that you can have only one RV unit and one vehicle per lot. The lot next to me had 1 unit and 2 vehicles. Next to it was 1 unit, 2 vehicles (one which had a flat tire the entire time I was there) and a trailer. Across from me was 1 unit, 2 large trucks and a trailer. Across from the bathroom was 1 unit, 2 vehicles and a trailer. I do believe the majority of the people here are full timers and you can tell by all the stuff they have on their lots. Junk basically. Worn out, broken pieces of furniture, fencing, cages, pads, old grills, vehicle parts, potted plants, decorations up the wazoo, building materials, etc.||||Redeeming factor: The staff here (John & Dorothy specifically) are GREAT! I had packages delivered here and they were always on top of getting it to me or letting me know something arrived. There was a problem with my lot electrical and John was there within 30 minutes to look at it, and back with parts within 20 minutes to fix it. Nice people. Also several nice campers were met while here.||||Price: Is a cheaper park, and it should be for all the things that could be improved upon. Wifi was...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here 3 months after moving to florida from iowa. It gave us the time to get settled and get a house! John on the management staff is amazing he is quick to address any issues and trespassers are gone within the hour! There are stray cats who roam the area but are very friendly and keep away the rodents so I have no complaints. Generally nice neighbors with a couple exceptions who are a little noisy but still nice people. Each spot has a cement pad and a picnic table, but you must provide your own grill or fire pit. The communal mailbox is not a great situation I would prefer they did the small individual mailbox and gave keys for long term stayers, but their is a post office down the road so u can get a P.O. Box. Never had any issues with electrical or water hookups and overall very good. Bathrooms are typically clean although the shower situation is not great with little to no privacy. The laundromat is only open for a limited time each day, but it’s very nice to have easy access to the machines! I will say the proximity to highways make it noisy sometimes, but it’s florida you’ll get that anywhere. There’s great proximity to grocery, gas, and supplies you...
Read moreI've only been here for about a week, but we will be long term. Seems pretty safe. Before we got to this rv park, we drove through in the evening and stopped by a couple that was outside grilling, we asked them for the opinion - no money to be made so we think they were honest. They said it was very quiet and they had no problems. Now that we are here we can agree it is really, really quiet. It is not overrun with people nor do we feel unsafe. I almost wish it wasn't so quiet, but we do like it. It is not a resort style park, there is a bath house and quarter laundry facility on site and free wifi. Not fancy or modern at all, but clean and works. The WiFi isn't the best, but with all the rv parks we've been to, it never really is. I don't see any trash on the ground. Either it's cleaned up or the campers just don't litter. I'm here all day long so no bias. If you are looking for that friendly quick chatter from stepping outside to swap stories of places and travels, this may not be the rv park for you. I believe these people keep to themselves. I wish there was a designated area for kids and dogs, but then you'd be closer to the more active travel stops....
