As a former waitress This place doesn’t even deserve a single star. To start off there was a sign outside for live music and we were super excited. Not even a single song was live. Decided to go around 720 to celebrate our anniversary with my husband, we arrived and were told it would be a 45-60 min wait. We were fine with the wait and expected it to be awhile as it was crowded. The hostess took our name and number and said they would call us.
We had not been informed that they stopped serving food.
2 hours later we decided to go in and check on the table and were informed then that they had stopped serving food 2 hours ago. And that the table was still full. There were multiple tables open and we could have been seated.
Very disappointed that we were not informed and no effort was made to inform us so we could go to another restaurant.
I will not be going back to try the food.
Adding to this review since the owner felt the need to claim that I’m “confused” about my experience.
I think it’s beyond unprofessional to respond to a customer who has legitimate concerns and criticism with claims of lying and wanting to drop the rating. In no world is it okay to treat clients with that much disrespect. I gain nothing from leaving a bad review, this is available so people can form their own opinion on where they’d like to eat.
I wish I had enjoyed this place. Very...
Read moreFitzgerald’s in Tappahannock is everything you want in a local pub—laid-back, lively, and full of charm. We stopped in on a whim and left already planning our next visit.
The beer was crisp and refreshingly cold, perfect after a hot day. Their menu had a little something for everyone, and every dish we tried was packed with flavor—comfort food done right. You can tell the kitchen knows what they’re doing.
What really made the visit stand out was the top-notch service. The staff was quick, courteous, and genuinely made us feel welcome without being overbearing. It’s rare to find a place that nails both the food and the hospitality—Fitzgerald’s does it effortlessly.
Whether you’re catching a game, grabbing a meal, or just looking for a cold one and good company, this spot...
Read moreI have mixed feelings for our first time visit. The food was good, some of it excellent. Fish and chips were very tasty, the Shepherds Pie was outstanding. The crab dip was okay but the pretzel bites just aren't the right vehicle in this case, the coarse salt takes away from and overpowers the flavor. Brown bread or soda bread crostinis would be a better combo there, in my opinion. Alas, the service. Our server was lovely but everything just took way too long food wise, it wasn't that busy so there really wasnt any reason for it. The fries were lukewarm, thankfully the fish was nice and hot. There's lots to recommend here between some of the dishes, and the cute pup walking around and will definitely give it another go. Here's hoping the service will improve or that it was just...
