Bodacious Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Tatum

This was the FIRST time I had ever visited Bodacious Barbecue in Tatum. I can truly say that I will NOT be going back. I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! I am the type person that usually gives a restaurant the benefit of the doubt, but this place, not so much! First off, I ordered the fish basket, as you can see from the pictures. The fish was tough and rubbery. I was REALLY wanting chicken, but I was told from the cashier that chicken was only sold on Saturday evenings, and I had went in on a Friday evening, my luck, geez! BUT the sign out by the road clearly states that they have chicken and it does not specify any particular days that it is served, so that is EXTREMELY misleading! And I am sure once I make this post, they will change their sign out by the road to specify WHICH days they ACTUALLY sell chicken! So anyway, I order my food, pay and get my drink and I sit down and wait for my order..... I see several people come in after me that place their orders and get their drinks as well and sit down with their drinks to wait on their orders as well. I begin to see after about 5, maybe 7 minutes, that 6 people that came in AFTER me, have began to get their orders delivered to their table. At first first I did not say anything, but then when I noticed that 5 more people that came in AFTER me, got their food, then I began to wonder if maybe I got overlooked?? And I was NEVER told at the time I made my order that there would be any longer wait time than normal, so this really had me confused. So after about 15 minutes, I decided I would go ask if maybe my order had been forgotten, or what??? The lady behind the counter told me, it's coming right out. So my response was okay. I go sit down and wait once again. About 7 minutes later, I get my order. I NEVER once was checked on, AFTER I got my food, by the ladies or men, working there, while I was there, to see if my food was to my satisfaction or if I needed anything. However, everyone that was seated in the tables around me, the ones that came in AFTER me, yeah those folks, they were asked if their food was to their satisfaction, did they need anything else, did they need any dessert, did they need any ice, napkins, etc..... This is absolutely ridiculous! I'm very glad I have this forum to voice my opinion and give my reviews so that others can see how some people are treated. Bodacious Barbecue you...

The food is good but the past two times me and my family have ordered for family get togethers and they give us hardly any BBQ sauce. Doesn’t seem right when we are spending over $100 dollars for food... even when we buy regular meals for $15-$17 they are so stingy with BBQ sauce it’s ridiculous. For a $20 plate we should get a good amount of sauce. Everytine I’ve been the customer service has not been good, I believe the last time I was there the employees were talking bad to each other and smart mouthing each other. They had too many employees just standing around not doing anything and maybe 1 or 2 people actually working. This is the local BBQ place in this city, but I would rather drive 30+ minutes for better customer service and food! I’m from Tatum but that doesn’t mean this type of service is acceptable,...

Have been eating barbeque from this company for years. I've never gotten any bad food at any time. It is really good.Stopped in today headed to Dallas, got a sliced beef sandwich and the wife got a chopped beef sandwich. Mine was extremely good as it was flvored just right, moist, and had just the right amount of fat mixed in. Add the sauce, pickles, and onions, and I also add mayo to the buns. It had to be the best I've eaten in a while. My wife said hers was good also. The potato salad was good. Stopped by there today to get lunch. A sliced BBQ sandwich with potato salad and she got 2 chicken quarters with potato salad. Man was it good. Great...
