East Wok New York Style Chinese Cuisine — Restaurant in Tavares

I've ordered from here multiple times. Multiple times I've had bad experiences. The young girl behind the counter is ALWAYS very rude. I often wonder if she's being forced to work because she's never happy. Tonight was no different. I placed an order with the rude little girl, went to pick it up, only to be told they couldn't find my order. They asked me again what I ordered and I told them. The gentleman said okay. I told him if the order wasn't put in yet, then not to worry about it because I wasn't going to wait after calling it in. He just awkwardly stared at me without saying one word. So I apologized and left. Then he started yelling something. Don't know if it was at me or at the girl. After I left, I felt bad, maybe it was a misunderstanding due to a language barrier. I didn't want to leave them with food they had prepared, so I called to get clarification on if it was made or not. I spoke to the older woman, explained the situation and told her if they had prepared it, I would pay. The older woman hung up me. I don't know what their problem is. They should hire someone that knows English and isn't rude with customers. Never going back.

Jersey shore native over here. I pronounce this perfectly executed NY Chinese. And I am soooooooo grateful. For those of who grew up in the NYC area this is comfort food. The family even has the surly teenage daughter working up front. In NYC this gal is part of the experience— the sad, doesn’t want to be there, flippant, often rude daughter. I can tell reading the reviews that they aren’t familiar with this type of gal working front dining room of a mom and pop. Let me fill you in: She does what her father tells her. Or he won’t pay for college. Or anything else. That’s about the beginning and end of that. The fact that she is miserable up front doesn’t matter to her father. She will work. That’s the end of that argument. (I went to college with a number of gals from exactly this background. The kid is likely a super genius. And wants to start a tech company but her Dad is making her sling fried rice!) Let her be. Unlike most American girls the more successful her family becomes the longer her work hours. Enjoy the food! They give me wrong order and i call them and the lady owner insult me after me been a customer for over a yr!! She say that i wanna free food and thats why i was calling. I explain to her that i order vegetable fried rice no mushrooms bc i don’t eat meat and that they give me pork fried rice also i order a large order of broccoli in a garlic sauce and they give me a small order and she got mad. She accused me of wanted to get more food for free. Again lets make clear that i have never had an issue with them and we use to order mostly once a wk.
