Ole Spanish Tapas Restaurant — Restaurant in Tavares

Stopped in for lunch when I was in the area and was pleasantly surprised by this gem near the Tavares waterfront. Very impressive variety of Tapas options that made choosing very difficult - I had the octopus (pulpo a la parrilla), mixed seafood in sauce (cazuela de marisco) and for dessert the Spanish-style pannacotta (cuajada y mango). They were all excellent and perfectly cooked/seasoned - I’ll definitely be coming back to try the other items soon! They’re currently working through the liquor licensing process but said people are welcome to bring their own bottle of wine to have with the food (at least until they get the license). I was quite surprised and impressed to find such authentic Spanish cuisine, not to mention right in my own town! The presentation, freshness and layers of flavor with all that we ordered was truly impressive. Jon was awesome, so knowledgeable about the entire menu and preparation. Really looking forward to trying everything on their rather extensive menu. Hopefully the craft cocktails and live music will be coming soon. Food was fresh and delicious. Service was great. I had veal cheek with goat cheese. Extremely tender as stated. My husband had the rack of lamb and again perfect dish. Now the Best part of our meal the side of sautéed mushrooms. I will go back to have just this again and again. We frequent the owners Cuban restaurant but by far this one has brought a healthy version to eating too Tavares. Only one dish was just OK and that was the calamari. Maybe I just don't like it that crispy. This place is a must...
