A&W: A Nostalgic Letdown My recent visit to A&W with my son was intended to be a trip down memory lane. The classic atmosphere of the restaurant instantly transported us back to simpler times. Unfortunately, the service and some key details fell short of recreating that nostalgic magic.
The food itself was average fast-food fare – nothing bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. The bigger disappointment resided with the root beer floats, practically synonymous with A&W's brand identity. We were incredibly bummed to receive them in disposable cups rather than the iconic frosted mugs. This seemingly minor detail significantly detracted from the whole experience we were hoping for – a fun and nostalgic A&W tradition.
Considering the price, which felt a bit expensive, especially since I didn't get a combo meal, the lack of attention to detail was even more glaring. A&W boasts a rich heritage, and their signature menu items like root beer floats should be presented in a way that reflects that legacy. With a little more focus on these small touches, A&W could create a more memorable and enjoyable dining experience for customers seeking a taste...
Read moreSpeaker was ridiculous quiet and faint and could not understand what the lady was saying when reading back my order. After receiving my order, the manager came out and asked if I ordered a small shake and that it was on my ticket, which I did not order. Crazy because I don’t recall the lady reading that back to me even with it being quiet. I then noticed that two large fries were missing and were not on the ticket. The manager proceeds to bring out ONE large fry instead of two. I politely informed her that I was missing two, not just one, and she says that she’ll have to ring it up because they are not on the ticket and that the lady read it back to me even though I could barely hear what she was saying. Trying to make it seem like it was my fault when it’s literally what I ordered. Maybe if the speaker was fixed this issue could have been avoided. Pretty disappointing that she had to be rude about it. Can’t blame the customers for...
Read moreThe manager (7/20/25 @ 7:20 p.m.) told me with an attitude to pull ahead to the door that they can't give me my order through the window ??? She didn't like me sitting at the window using up the timer. Apparently, she isn't aware I know about the drive-through timer. They employ this tactic (pull ahead away from the window) so they can take their good old time getting you your order ready, this way, the management thinks things are running smoothly when they're not. In fact, the food quality was terrible, and the service was slow, Next time, I'm sitting at the drive-through window, so management gets a true reading on their lack of efficiency. Managemmet needs to address this laziness. Read the other low star reviews. You'll see management does nothing to address the real problem, except ask you to waste more of your time giving them a more detailed report. Signed...
