After multiple successful trips to JPs Waterfront in Gibraltar we gave JPs Taylor another try.

Even with employee shortages and supplies being limited, we had great burgers and service this time.

I've learned a lot over the past 18 months about eating out. Appreciate the employees that do show up and have patience. That won't give a pass on poor quality of food, but will make the difficulties places are facing more understandable.

Disappointed... That sums it up. We live right down the road and last night was our first visit after driving by the whole time JPs has been around.

Maybe I shouldn't order fish on a Friday during lent. Still waiting for my cole slaw and my beer refill.

I don't know where the cooks and staff have had hush puppies before, but 2 little rocks the size of jelly beans ARE NOT hush puppies. I ordered 3 more since the 2 with the meal were so tiny, and those 3 were at least the size of a Whopper candy. Which is still a joke!

My baked potato was cold and barely cooked. Wasn't warm enough to melt butter and the center was raw. After waiting so long to get seated and receive our food I wasn't about to send anything back. 2 tables of 6 rude people that were done but not cashing out, but also not ordering anymore, were causing a bottle neck for seating people. Don't be so selfish. With limited seating, sitting around talking costs the servers money. It's about turnover right now. Get in, get out.

The staff was very pleasant, but I shouldn't have to ask for tarter sauce, cole slaw and hush puppies with a meal that states they come with it. And being seated the furthest distance from the kitchen it took many minutes to get anything. I was almost finished with my raw potato before I received tarter sauce.

Cole slaw should have came with the appetizer and my wife's clam chowder. The main attraction, the fish. Eh. Not the best downriver. To much batter and way over cooked. At least not oily.

I had hoped to go to the new location by boat this summer, but before that, I'll try here one more time and order the same to see what happens, and edit the review if it's justified.

Edit: Tried again on Sunday afternoon. Took almost 10 minutes to be acknowledged standing at the Wait To Be Seated sign. Was told 5 minutes and after 10 more finally was seated. So 20 minutes for a table for 2 with empty tables available? Food was better, service was mediocre and we spent many minutes waiting for someone to return to the hidden back in the banquet room again. I can't understand the rave reviews.

I guess you have to be a regular to receive good food and service here. There's dozens of other places I will spend...

was here for 4 hrs with good service and food. when our table received our bills I looked mine over and it appeared to have some extra charges for alcohol. After looking at my receipt and my friends we noticed the same similar charges for alcohol even though we ordered at different times and he drank faster than me. After approaching the waitress and bartender about a possility of extra charges they instantly became defensive. I had 2, what seemed to be regulars, offer to pay my bill as if I had an issue paying my own bill. The fact we were charged for 47 beers and 8 shots between 5 completely sober and coherent people threw me off. After the attitude from the waitress and bartender acting as if we were in the wrong and couldn't afford the bill we just paid the bill and explained we will be calling the following morning about these charges and the way the business handled the situation. If you do make the mistake of going to this bar, make sure you pay attention to your bills it just seems they think they can charge everyone they same charges and they the people wont notice if there is enough alcohol involved. let's hope this doesnt keep happening and people have a better experience at the end of their lunch, dinner, or bar...

The first few times I came in here, I really liked it. The wings were good, the vibes were very cool and the service was impeccable.

The past couple of times I've eaten in here, I've been a bit disappointed. The wings have tasted like they were turning and the service has been slow and inattentive.

Last time I was in, we sat at the bar and everything that I just mentioned happened. We had to flag down our waitress to order our drink and food. We put the in wings as an appitizer. And then a few minutes later, we put in our order for our main course. She brought it all out at the same time. And the wings, while they were bulky, meaty and had good flavor, tasted like they were old.

When our bill came, our waitress was too busy cutting up lemons to cash us out. So one of the other 3 waitresses that were working took our bill.

Overall, this place has a great atmosphere and they do have good food. But they are kind of pricey. And the past few times I've been in, I've been kind of disappointed. I may be back, but probably...
