Had heard this place was under new ownership so wanted to give it a shot. Upon walking in we were greeted and told to sit wherever we wished. Most of the booths were dirty and had plates still on them. Which seemed they had been left for sometime. Upon ordering, we both wanted onion soup. Sorry sir we are out of onion soup. For real?? A Japanese place out of onion soup!? That’s like a steak house being out of yeast rolls! Come on! I ordered hibachi steak with carrots, broccoli and mushrooms. My son ordered hibachi steak no vegetables. After a bit the food came out, looked fresh. But the amount of steak to everything else ratio was somewhat of a let down! Very very small portion of meat. My son had way more rice than I did, maybe because I had veggies. Idk? I will say the food had great flavor and taste, but lacking in quantity. Oh and what Japanese restaurant doesn’t have a container of Soy sauce on the table! Come on do better. This cost us...

I may personally be biased as I am an employee for Sam and his lovely wife Sokunthary, but I love my employers and their family! After my job with McDonald's, this place is a breath of fresh air. My bosses love the community and put their hearts and souls into this business, because that is the kind of people they are. They bought this business after COVID-19 shut down the previous owners; they were fresh out of Philadelphia, trying to make it here, in the tiny town of Taylorsville. To say they give this restaurant and their customers everything they have is an understatement. They do not cut corners with sanitation, food quality, or customer service. I am proud of my bosses and I love my job. Please consider leaving a positive review to help my employers if you enjoyed your experience, to encourage more people to come enjoy our food made with love!

The worst customer service EVER. I asked if they could please put my rice on the side. They said that they didn’t see a problem. Then our food comes out and the rice is with the rest. I asked if they could just put it on the side again. The waiter was very apologetic but the cook said that it will be about an hour wait because he would have to turn the stove off and clean it then my ā€œspecial plateā€. I said all you have to do is not put the rice with the rest of my food. The cook got upset and said that I could make it myself. So I got up and left. I’ll never eat there every again. I called he next day and spoke to a manager and she didn’t seem to care either. So I’ll spend my money else where. Btw if you’re looking for amazing Asain food. Wild Wok in Hickory is amazing. Don’t waste...

I read another review about owners changing but it's the same owners I've known for at least the last year or 2 (as long as ive visited). My favorite is the gentleman who has checked me out and served me at the table.. always has a very hospitable smile and bows with a 😊 you he's my favorite-and still there. As for portions, I'm satisfied, and attaching a picture of my steak hibachi to go. Their steak isnt too chewy like some places. I asked for no mushrooms in my vegetables and they absolutely gave me what I asked for. While the inside is relatively simple sparsely decorated but at least clean. It's not a fancy updated fusion restaurants in the big cities, but it doesn't have the expensive prices either.
