First things first our server was AMAZING!! Me and my husband are truckers and we have decided we will only eat out if there is food that we have never tried around. The server was extremely patient and more importantly informative about the Indian food and drinks. Walking in the food smelled amazing!! The restaurant was super clean and just had a nice comforting vibe. Our waitress explained the menu to us. I have never tried Indian food, lamb nor goat. So my husband got the goat vindaloo and I got chicken soup and the lamb vindaloo. We love spicy but she warned us that extra spicy was going to be to spicy and suggested the medium or medium hot. Let’s just say that I am glad I listened, because the spice level was perfect!! The chicken soup came out first with a side of rice. The soup was arguably the best chicken soup I have ever put in my mouth. I also had Masalla ( I know I missed spelled it) tea. That usually comes hot but she chilled it for me. That was amazing!!! I loved the light hint of cinnamon. My husband loved the food as well. After we were done he said “ Baby I could definitely live in India”. 🤣 I completely agree with him. So overall the experience and food was a 10 out of 10. I’m upset I don’t get the servers name, but if you are reading this YOU ARE AN AMAZING PERSON AND YOUR SERVICE IS PHENOMENAL 😘😍. Next time we are pass they Tehachapi we will definitely be...

Let’s start with the good—because there’s a lot of it! The food here is delicious. Like, really delicious. The butter chicken was rich, flavorful, and honestly better than anything I’ve had in Bakersfield. You can tell they know what they’re doing in the kitchen.
But here’s the catch… my excitement was short-lived when I opened my takeout container and saw exactly four lonely pieces of chicken swimming in that buttery, spicy goodness. And for $29 (including naan), I had to do a double take. I get that they’re the only Indian restaurant in Tehachapi, but are we paying for the food or the exclusivity?
I grabbed my order to-go while passing through since we had been meaning to try this place for a while. And honestly, despite the portion shock, I’d still come back because the food is authentically good. Looking at other reviews, it seems like some people got bigger portions, so maybe it was just an off day?
Final thoughts: If you’re craving great Indian food in Tehachapi, this is the spot (literally, the only spot). But be prepared to pay premium prices for not-so-premium portions. That said, the flavors alone are worth a second chance. We’ll be back to see if our next visit is a redemption arc!
Would I recommend it? Yes. But bring your wallet… and maybe manage your expectations on...

(This is our favorite restaurant in town) Naan Bread - Garlic, Cheese, whatever you pick it comes fresh, and taste amazing. It completes every meal.
Curry - Amazing, I don't enjoy onion, which this had a lot of it, but I worked my way around it, lamb and chicken were both amazing.
Tikka Masala - This is the foundation dish, first time getting indian food? This is the best item to dip your toes, fresh meat, perfectly cooked rice, and it's all so tender. Great portions, and you won't leave hungry. I prefer the lamb.
Service ?
The people here are the best staff in town, so many restaurants here have inconsistent staff, and this restaurant should be so much more busy with how amazing their place is! If your passing through, avoid everything else and eat here, as this takes the #1 spot for local restaurants. The usual host, who may be the owner, is friendly, and always looking over every table alongside his team to ensure no one is in need of anything.
Location
Modern, clean, and comfortable seating, booths are all throughout the restaurant, and there is plenty of space, you don't hear the other conversations around you, and you feel like you have your own box to eat in.
