Had to change my review. I order the same thing every time. California burrito with adobada for the meat.
They were doing construction in the lobby. I felt like that should be done overnight when they are closed. Didn't like hearing a ban saw blaring in my ear while ordering.
I hadn't been here in awhile but when I got my burrito, I opened it up to find the majority of it was burned. This is totally unacceptable. The cook MUST BE BLIND if he didn't see the meat he put in was totally burned. I didn't feel like driving back to get it replaced so I ate half but couldn't finish so i just threw it away. Yuk. There is absolutely no excuse. The cook must have seen it burned. And I think the server girl even knew because she seemed nervous giving me the food. How anyone can knowingly give horrible food is a really bad sign. For 10 bucks? Ummm... no thanks
I don't think I'll return.
Got a response from the owner. They tried to give me an excuse like I don't know pork needs to be cooked to an internal temp of 145 for 5 minutes. I was a head chef for 12 years. I have cooked pork once or twice in my career. I have never burned pork to where you can visibly see black pieces of charred meat like you do in the picture. Horrible excuse. Instead, you need to reprimand your cook. Even if I did burn meat, there is absolutely no way I would serve it. That is a health food violation. You are lucky I'm not a health inspector.
The other excuse is about the workers. You acted like you told me something. Maybe you couldn't hear me over the buzzing ban saw but you are paying them, right? If they don't want to work at night, you either close, make a sign to warn the customers, or you find someone else. Wow. The response from the owner is actually making me never to want to return. I will also make sure to let everyone that lives in this area and everyone I know that visit this area to never go here. Rude and very...
Read moreAfter reviewing their other location off of Temecula Parkway, I thought there was no way that THIS Alberto's could be any worse! Being that this location is under different management it seemed optimistic. The place looks a lot cleaner and nicer inside and out. The staff is friendly and their to go boxes actually have buttons to seal the food! (Wow it's like they know how to run a business!) It's a shame though that the reason you enter a restaurant is for the food and not the friendly banter, which is why it pains me to give this 1 star but it's deserving.... I was served ROTTEN MEAT. If you ever had the misfortune of smelling (or tasting) a piece of chicken that had seen better days, you would grimace at the instant the smell or taste touched your senses. Okay I've been to a lot of restaurants and I've gone out to eat to a lot of places, but I've never EVER been served ROTTING MEAT anywhere! Why? Because it SMELLS RANCID and any halfbrained chef would smell or even see the rotting meat and NOT cook it, but rather throw it away immediately! If management is pressuring cooks to throw it in or isn't properly training their staff then it reflects on their business as a whole. Yes this place is nicer looking than the other location but you can't come back from serving a customer rotten meat. I feel like I'm going to be sick. The first mouthful I may have swallowed part of it. The second mouthful I spit out. The third... Well... You get it now.... It was also rotten. Disgusting. My stomach is already wretching and I'm not looking forward to the morning when it hits me. Just avoid Alberto's altogether. Lethargic service, high prices for quality of food, and rotten food that they deem is servable to you. I called and wanted a refund but was offered only another meal. Well I don't want another meal! I want my money back for having bought your disgusting ROTTING MEAT YOU SERVED TO...
Read moreFirst time we’ve ever been to this restaurant. We were visiting from Georgia. The menus were up behind the register and didn’t give the greatest descriptions and it was hard for me to read the small lettering. I wanted the combo that had chicken tacos but was told they couldn’t do soft shell tacos instead of the crunchy ones… the cashier recommended I get combo #8 instead and they’d change it to chicken for me… I didn’t know what that was but agreed based on the recommendation, still unsure why they couldn’t give me soft tacos?? They gave my bf soft taco shells on the side with his food, so obviously they had them… very confused about that. My bf got combo #10 and wasn’t even sure what it was from the picture on the menu. So he was surprised when he got it and realized it had eggs in it which isn’t really his thing. I will say, their rice and beans were very good! Whatever chicken tacos I got with combo #8, the meat was extremely salty and hard to eat due to that. They had some yummy drinks up by the register, I forget The name, but one was made from hibiscus flowers and tasted awesome!! So we were a bit disappointed, but also found certain aspects of our...
