Horrible experience here, and the food was so unappetizing we didn't even eat it...
We ordered online at 5:12 on a Friday for takeout. This business uses Slice to handle their online orders. Received a confirmation email saying order would be ready at 5:45. Got to restaurant at 5:45 and the employee said they didn't have our order. I showed him the receipt, and he rudely told me I'm there way too early. I said, oh I'm here at 5:45 because I received an email saying it would be ready at 5:45. He continued to say they are very busy and I'm here too early. Then another employee comes up and looks at the receipt, says he already made the pizza, but not the rest of our order (we ordered 4 items: a half cheese/half meat pizza, cheese bread, Italian sub, and cheese bread). I said ok I can wait for it, it's fine. So I sat and waited. I noticed they had a lot of orders, so I figured I'd be patient but it really seemed like they couldn't handle the business. At 6:15 they had more customers coming in the door and the employees were yelling at each other, arguing, so I decided to text my wife to try and get a refund through Slice. Slice called the business and I overheard their employee say they gave me my order already... which wasn't true. I asked their employee about it and they said it was almost done. Then at 6:25 employee hands me the Pizza and the sub, nothing else and says here we're done... I asked where the other two items were and he says to me "what? You ordered more???" I showed him the receipt, AGAIN. He proceeds to tell me it'll only take 1 minute to finish. 5 minutes later he hands me my cheese bread and says good bye. I asked, we still don't have the meat balls... and he says "what? You ordered meat balls too???" And at that point I just said, never mind, I'm leaving... and I left at 6:30....
Slice has told us a supervisor would call during regular business hours, but because the business said they will not issue a discount or refund, they couldn't do it on their end without a supervisor approval. Slice told us the employee said they gave us everything, and they refused to refund us or discount because I "was there too early."
We didn't eat the food. The pizza was clearly over done and wasn't made how we ordered it (half-half). The cheese bread was just a small amount of cheese on bread... the sub was soggy and clearly thrown together with aggression.
The staff is rude. The place has no A/C so the employees are all sweating profusely. The food is bad....
Read moreFood is delicious. Unfortunately that's not why I'm writing this review. I came in on new years, I'm a restaurant manager and had just finished a busy shift at my own food service place. I was very excited to try a new pizza place, and my order was ready 20 minutes earlier than expected! With high hopes I enter the establishment, grab a drink to add to my purchase from the fridge, and wait for the cashier to finish with the man in front of me. I hear him telling the man how good the pepperoni is, I'm all smiles and excited for my turn. A man walks in behind me and is immediately greeted and asked if he's there to pick up or order. I'm a little thrown off because I wasn't greeted but I figure he just didn't see me. Man in front leaves, I go to register. I'm immediately greeted by a scowl. I tell him I'm there to pick up my order and I'm told "it's not ready yet, and you're not next, he got here first" and gestures to the man I watched walk in behind me. I try to explain I had been waiting, and he's just scowling at me the whole time. Also shame on the man behind me for not speaking up when he knew I had been there before he even entered the building. The kind girl working behind him let me know the food actually was ready, and grabbed it for me. 5 stars for her. I was so taken aback I almost forgot about the drink I was holding, I wish I had put it back instead of giving them more business after that interaction but it is what it is. I'm here eating the pizza, it's wonderful, but unfortunately I will not return to Gino's, and if you value customer service I cannot recommend this location.
Based on other low reviews I'm lowering my review, I thought maybe it was an off day but apparently this place has a bit of a reputation for treating customers like this. Fix your customer service and you could really have...
Read moreI had an absolutely terrible experience with Uncle Gino's Pizza. If it were possible, I would give them zero stars for the way they handled my order. I was actually recommended this place by my in-laws, who insisted I try their garlic cheese sticks (which the restaurant actually calls mozzarella sticks). However, when we searched for it on Google Images, the item we wanted was labeled as "garlic cheese bread" instead.
So, I called Uncle Gino's to place my order for my family. I found their menu on Google and decided to go with the garlic cheesy bread that I saw on their images. When I called to place my order, I described it to the person who answered the phone. However, due to a language barrier, it was incredibly difficult to communicate and order our food. Nevertheless, we managed to somehow place the order.
When I arrived at the location to pay for my order, I was shocked to find a baguette that was cut in half, with just two pieces of cheese thrown on it and hastily melted in the oven. I immediately informed the lady working there that this wasn't what I had ordered. To my astonishment, she began to get an attitude with me, insisting that I still had to pay for it and that I had to purchase this item in order to order the item I actually wanted. I tried explaining that I didn't want to pay for something I wouldn't eat, but she continued to argue with me. Out of nowhere, she started screaming at me to leave her store and never order from there again.
This entire experience was a complete disappointment. The lack of communication, the incorrect order, and the disrespectful behavior from the staff were all unacceptable. I will definitely never be returning to Uncle Gino's Pizza and I strongly advise others to avoid this place...
