Hot Wok (Chinese Food) — Restaurant in Tempe

The food was absolutely great, and the prices were very reasonable — no complaints there. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by the extremely poor customer service I received from the man working the counter, a larger , tall individual who seemed to be in charge. He indeed said he's the boss and owner.

I arrived approximately five minutes before the posted opening time. I understand that arriving early might not always be ideal, but I was polite and willing to wait. By the time my order was prepared, it was nearly 11:15 a.m., well past opening hours. Despite this, I was told in a very rude manner that I could not stay to eat my lunch there because I had arrived too early.

What was most disappointing was not just being asked to leave, but the disrespectful tone and unprofessional attitude. I mentioned that, due to the way I was treated, I would likely not return. His response? “Okay, don’t ever come back.”

This kind of response is unacceptable from anyone working in a customer-facing role. It’s a shame, because the kitchen staff clearly takes pride in their food, and it shows. Unfortunately, one rude interaction can ruin an otherwise great experience, and that’s exactly...

Ive gotten disappointed with this place. Over all, its just dissapointing. The wings were good. Not so much their Salt n Pepper wings. There just is not enough flavor. To try and get some flavor this time I requested extra garlic. Didnt happen. Didnt find even one tiny chunk. Nothin. The bean spouts were limp and sad. Not crisp n juicy Like expected. Found something I have NO IDEA what it was. Thinking maybe it was chicken or some kind of exotic veggie, I tried it and immediately regretted it. Hard. Bad flavor Hard to chew. Gross. And I'm pretty positive the chicken is definitely NOT chicken. What really ruined it was, the crispy fried noodles. Not only were they not crispy. They were very hard and VERY STALE. The guy Who usually is at the counter is NOT friendly. At all. Doesnt even try to smile.

If. And thats a IF I were to try them again, I'd just get the won ton soup. Tho, wonton soup doesnt take much and isn't very hard to mess up. ... ...

Quick Service. Awesome wings. So much better then the "wing" place next door. Good taste. Nice heat. Much better then the mutant "chicken"...

Pretty average food for a Chinese Food lunch! If you like eating on paper plates, using a plastic teaspoon for your soup, (1) napkin per person this just might be your place!

The hot & sour soup had a woody mushroom taste. I've had much better elsewhere. My lo mein shrimp was just okay at best. My wife did enjoy her stir fried veggie lunch. If you want just a glass of ice water with you meal, you have to buy a bottle of Costco branded water marked up by 300%.

The menu outside taped to the store glass had price changes crossed out and hand written. Kinda tacky in my opinion! The paper take out menu's reflect all their old pricing. The take out menu pricing, indicates their old pricing with many entress increasing by at least a few dollars based on their outdoor menu (very tacky!)

The restrooms: no paper towels to dry your hands, in need of cleaning and a paint job, etc. Clearly this is a mom & pop restaurant barley hanging on by a thread. I wish them luck but will probably not...
