I am a huge Mexican food fan and have eaten it at a lot of places around the valley. I will say that the decor and Ambiance of this restaurant is above and beyond. It is very quaint. Sadly I was not impressed with the portion size of their fajitas. Usually fajitas come with a hearty helping. This was a $13 menu item and one of the most expensive but it came with only three tiny corn tortillas , a very small amount of vegetables and 6 very thin strips of chicken. At other restaurants in the area if you get fajitas you will have enough left over for the next day. This portion was barely enough to fill up a small adult woman. They also give you a tiny spoonful of guacamole. The chips and salsa are good but you only get one basket and they do not offer you any more. We also ordered the monster burrito and the waitress said it was so huge that it was enough food for two people and that we'd never be able to finish it. It was large but not as big as the burritos at Chipotle. My husband and I split both meals and ate every bite and were not full and we're not obese people. the portions here just are not big enough to match the prices. The waitress also commented repeatedly about how much we ate. I don't go out to eat to be food shamed. The waitress suggested we try the chocolate churros so we said we would take an order and when it came they were actually chocolate chimis. Although not what we had expected they were good but I felt like they should be filled with a thicker chocolate like hot fudge sauce in the middle as the Hershey syrup in the middle of these was too runny and messy and poured out everywhere and was difficult to eat. Hot fudge sauce would be creamier and better. Although this place was cute we won't be back because we can go to La Parrilla Suiza or Gecko Grill or even Filibertos and get larger portion sizes for less money without the comments of the waitress that we are eating such unbelievably large...

My friends and I come here occasionally in the evenings for an early dinner/conversation, and the food is always really good. My husband and I went on a Sunday for lunch and it was good, but not quite as good as my evening experiences (different cook/staff?).

My favorites are the Shrimp or Fish Tacos, Shrimp Quesadillas, and especially the Lime Shrimp Avocado Salad! I tried their Chili Relleno this last time, and really liked it: It is very cheesy, inside and out, and is not deep fried w/ a batter. However, the pepper itself (which was not really spicy) was tender and flavorful. [I was disappointed that the salad I asked for on the side, instead of beans/rice, was nothing more than Pico and some chopped cilantro, with no dressing (but it was refreshing). That said, our server was very sweet, but not English-fluent, so something was probably lost in translation. Someone else did come over to clarify drink order, which was incorrect, so they were trying. First time I've ever experienced any problems at all there.]

My husband (his first visit) got the Cilantro Cream Chicken plate, and other than a couple pieces of chicken they were a little dry, he enjoyed it and said he would order it again. The plate included a generous portion of rice and beans (refried), and fresh tortillas.

All in all, there is authentic flavor, variety, and a wonderful, cheerful atmosphere here at Casa de Juana!...

This could be my new favorite place. I'm a big fan of diet coke and they gave me a great drink. I notice a lot of times when restaurants are new and the machine is new this is the case but anyway that was a plus. They also have really cool art and style in the place. I enjoyed the music too. It was like being at epcot. What I really liked was the Chili Reno. They don't fry it and bread it. And it's not wrapped in egg. Reno are my favorite and it's tough to find a good one. This was just different. I also really enjoyed the chicken. Fresh white meat. Also I liked the salsa. Usually I don't like salsa with roasted stuff in it but this had great flavor. OVer all this was a great experience. I can't wait to go back. And I hope it can work it's way up to my go to place and favorite. My one complaint which makes me nervous was the very friendly servers just don't seem well trained. They did a good job but you can tell they are not experienced. This makes me worry that once this place gets busy things can end up going to sh.. I guess what I'm saying is I don't get the impression this place dots their eyes and crosses the Tees. Regardless I highly recommend trying this place if you are looking for a cool new...

Dang! This place was an unexpected culinary diversion for us on a Friday night. We planned to go to another location, but it did not work out. We happened upon this place because we were in this neck of the woods. We got seats quickly. The gentleman playing music by the door was fantastic. It was very inviting. We ordered some tacos. My wife got fish and shrimp tacos. I ordered the Tacos Governador. We had chips and salsa before the meal. Salsa had just enough spice, so it was delicious. The meals came reasonably quickly. Our waiter was great and prompt. The shrimp tacos and sides were tasty. It all changed when I put that cheese sauce on my tacos. That stuff is like a drug. I couldn't get enough. It made that meal amazing. Thanks again for an enjoyable meal with my lovely bride.

This was a difficult review to leave because they had a number of good qualities but also some I disliked quite a bit. The place had a very welcoming atmosphere, and my party and I were sat down quickly. Some of the items we ordered were packed with flavor, but others, on the other hand, fell a bit bland. The salsa for the chips tasted so much like cumin I couldn't really enjoy the other flavors as much. The molcajete sauce/salsa was, however, well done and packed with flavor. My biggest gripes however was the beans. Those things tasted canned and not like a subtle flavor. It was a punch in the face flavor. Now the nitpicking part was they used shredded cheese instead of a crumble cheese. That is more of a tex-mex thing not authentic mexican.

Overall this place is a good standby. Better than some of the "local" chain sit down mexican restaurants. Have eaten in a few times but mostly ordered delivery over the years. Its hit or miss whether they have someone available to deliver so I ordered from door dash most recently so I didn't have to deal with an awkward phone conversation with them during a busy time. It's likely the fault of door dash but the 2 kids meals were awkwardly arranged. One had 2 sides of rice and the other two sides of beans. Regardless you pay for what you get. Kids burrito was a joke- two bites for an adult. Normal meals have decent portions. (Soda can in pic for size reference. )
