Came here Sunday afternoon for breakfast with several others from my parish. They were accommodating in setting up tables for all. I had ordered early in hopes to get to my other errands, and an appointment at 5:00. I found several errs in service that did not please me; and several things about my breakfast that could have made my meal better. With respect to service, my order was first in; but didn’t arrive until the other orders were ready to be brought out. The next item with respect to large parties and automatic gratuity. I understand the concept in theory. That’s typically applied to extra work involved, and additional servers needed to provide service. I recall only the one server. How this affected my meal? I had the Biscuit special. The gravy was cold. The eggs were done to order and were good; as were the grits. The sausage links were an odd sort as one link was burned; and both were cold. My neighbor to my right ordered an omelet with hash browns, rye toast, and sausage links. Her meal came with no links, and the rye toast arriving after she had eaten half of her omelet. When it came time to pay my check, they applied the automatic gratuity. Well, I’ve worked many years in the service industry and pay a gratuity that’s 20% or more. I don’t tip on tax. When you tell me how much I’m going to tip, and don’t provide the service, I’m stuck paying the tip that’s left than what I’d pay; and while I could pay more, I’m not going to as a matter of principle. This was a disappointing experience for me. I believe my tab came to $23.40. For less I could have had a better meal and service at Cracker Barrel or Butters. I don’t believe I’ll return here. I was excited to try this place today, but it was a huge letdown. They were kind of busy this morning but we got a table pretty quickly. Our waitress was super lackluster, though. It took a while for her to even make it to our table to take our order, and she never even gave us her name but she was the tall older lady with glasses. Anyway, we placed our order and watched as people who were sat after us were given their food and paid and left before our food even made it to our table. After 30 minutes of waiting our waitress magically appeared to let us know the kitchen was backed up and she was comping our coffee and giving us a discount on the food. This was a nice gesture, but we had somewhere to be. After 15 more minutes of waiting after we ordered (45 minutes total) we decided we couldn't wait any longer for the food. We watched as all tables around us got their food in a timely manner but our waitress was nowhere to be found. It sure didn't seem like the kitchen was backed up, it just seemed like she forgot to put our order in and was trying to cover herself. Anyway, the manager at the door gave us a coupon for next time and didn't charge us for the coffee but this is my first and last impression of this place so the coupon is useless as we won't be back. We were starving after this ordeal, and still had to make our next appointment, so we went across the street and got a fast food burger and ate quickly. What a disaster of a breakfast. ...

Came in as a first time visitor and left as a last time visitor.

My husband and I were seated promptly but it took awhile for our server to get to us. In fact, we observed several sets of different parties get seated and we able to order before us. At first we thought nothing of it. When our server finally arrived and took our order we didn't see her for a good 30 minutes afterwards. We saw those other parties before us get their orders and on their way of enjoying breakfast. The table next to us who were waiting for her as well have been done eating long ago waiting for a check to leave.

My husband and I had arrived with enough time before we had an appointment to head to but that fell through.

It was disappointing. We had coffee and water. When we got up to the front desk to check out, the hostess and what seemed like a manager were concerned and wanted to make sure we got our order but we no longer had the time.
