This place is an old favorite of mine. I've been coming since I was a child with my dad, like, 12 years old when it first opened. It has genuinely the best service- Another family run business with lots of help. The servers are always on top of everything, and they make sure you get seated and fed in a good amount of time while asking your opinions and checking on you at appropriate times (not when you're halfway into a bite lol). Not only that, the server we had recognized us and was glad we came back. He was a little stunned when I told him how long I'd been coming here but the fact he remembered at all is very kind as that's highly unexpected but very warm and welcoming, appreciated for sure. Not only that, the food has been consistent over the years- but not I the kitchen nightmares way. Rather, the food remains perfectly authentic. The quality has been maintained and you can tell that standards are getting raised with the way they prepare the meal that makes its way to your table. You'll feel the love and effort put into the broths you have, the noodles you eat even the rice grains that are never too sticky nor firm, but still manageable with chopsticks. I love that every bite is a gentle flavor, you leave filling full but not HEAVY and the portions are amazing for the price. Overall, it's a wonderful experience. A little older of an interior design but I think that makes it better, it's a more personal space that feels almost like home while still being a rather fancy place- a perfect combination of cozy and fancy that would ensure an amazing date with plenty if meaningful conversations while listening to gentle music and a running interior fish pond. Also highly recommend the Dalat Specialty rice plate as seen below as well as the Cơm Bò Nướng / Grilled Beef Rice Plate (ask for extra meat it's amazing if you dip the rice beef and lettuce in the sauce they give you, a cheat is using a wonton spoon after gathering everything with the chopsticks or fork). And you have to try their Thai tea, it isn't stupidly sweet or disgustingly sugary, and their boba has a satisfying texture
(Edit apparently I've been coming even longer, I've been a customer since 2010 so more like 15 years 😆 I'm old...
Read moreU.S. merchants cannot surcharge a customer for using a debit card. The merchants fee is called merchants fee for a reason is not call half to the customer and half to the merchant. That it's actually illegal in the United States. Do you Mr. Owner when you go to in and out, Safeway, or any restaurant get charged more for using a debit card? NO. do merchants still do it? Very few, like 0.001 percent, some scammer gas station own by an Indian may try to get away with it for a few weeks or months and customer most likely will stop going because it's clear that it's illegal and it actually makes them lose customers. I actually work in the debit card industry for a bank, we handle visa and master card transactions and we do get some complaints sometimes from customers and we guide them to report the merchant. You may actually end up with fines for doing that or the privilege of taking debit cards and credit cards transactions all together.
You are not only losing loyal customers but it makes your business look cheap by doing that.
I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and I'm going to go back in a week to eat. I love your food and I've been going to your restaurant since you open. the prices went up yes and that made me go less than before but I'm still going just a little less because it got kind of expensive but on top of that, don't do that. you are not a little dark gas station own by some Indian guy that doesn't care about customers or getting their debit card privilege.
Either if you don't want to pay your merchants fee as it should be MERCHANT FEE not customer fee. then don't take debit cards or credit cards at all and put a sign saying CASH ONLY.
I will see you in a week but if I see this again, not only I won't go back again but I...
Read moreWould give this place 0 stars but that wasn't an option... The first indication of something wrong was that the place was empty, I think there were 3 other tables being waited on. The food is more expensive then other pho places I've been to. They also don't offer a kids bowl of pho. The food was ok. I ordered oxtails which were $14 but only had 4 miniscule pieces of oxtail the flavor was light but good. The worse part was that my daughter ordered a bowl of pho and they never brought it out to her, my husband and I were nearly finished and still no pho for my child (she was eating off of my husbands plate) we asked our waiter and he said he thought we ordered something in place of the pho (which never happened) he brought out the pho and I asked if the restaurant would cover the pho because we all were done and my daughter still wanted the pho. He said "You ordered it you can pay, or we can take it" I asked for the manager, she came out but she didn't speak much English. When I finished explaining what happened she ended up communicating the same thing our waiter stated. They never took ownership of the mistake or tried to make things right. After that exchange we sat and waited another 30 mins while our daughter finished her food. We left having spent $60 on mediocre food and horrible customer service. My family will...
