Camino Real — Restaurant in Temple

You can tell a lot about a taco shop by the music they play. The music was fantastic and the food was great too. I had the number 38 the ladies quesadilla with chicken and split it with my son who is a picky eater and he enjoyed it after some playtime at littleland. The chips and salsa were complimentary and the mild salsa was fantastic not very spicy at all but delicious. The Pico de Gallo on the plate was a little strange because I'm used to it being more juicy rather than what looked like mostly lettuce but combined with the fresh guacamole and sour cream it was still great. My wife had the Carne Asada and enjoyed it. They were very accommodating for our family and even showed us you could flip a high chair upside down to sit a car seat on.

Well I saw on reviews that people call this place "authentic"...so I don't know if its authentic or not.. but my husband and I couldn't even eat our meals. The photos on the menu looked nasty so I decided to order the nachos to be safe.. you cant mess that up too bad right? I couldn't even hold a chip as they were so soggy and bland to boot. My husband got the fajitas and said the chicken looked and tasted like the prepackaged frozen chicken you get from store in bags.tortillas like store bought. Service slow and selective... certain customers seem to take precedence over others...the salsa was inedible and chips stale. water spots on ceiling, tables dirty, bugs in fixtures. just the worst....

Their menu has so much to choose from that it makes deciding a challenge. However that's fine by us. All the more reason to return. We'd have to come back every day to try something new.

It's a festival on a plate! Food portions are generous. A large plate full is sure to cure a hunger pang. Jaritos come in nice selections and they serve Horchata in a tall glass.

Plenty of seating is easily available, even for large parties. We had a party of 7 and were seated quickly - no reservation required. Our food was also served without a long wait.
