Went in wanting some tasty fajitas. By the entrance is a sign saying to please wait to be seated. I waited for what seemed an eternity to be greeted and then seated, in an almost empty restaurant. As I sat down a young man brought me chips and salsa within seconds. I thought to my self alright let’s get this party started. Nope. Waited another 5-10 minutes before waitress showed up to take my drink order. Keep in mind restaurant is still almost empty. She was prompt and cordial in getting my drinks. I went ahead and ordered the Texas fajita plate. This comes with fajitas, chicken fajitas and shrimp. When food was brought out presentation was great but that’s about it. It looked good. Fajitas were tough and rubbery. I don’t think they were even fajitas maybe some other cut of beef. Chicken was dry. The only highlight of the plate were the shrimp. They were plump and juicy and took their marinade or seasoning well. I was picking through the plate for the shrimp. They were that good. The plate was also served with a side of rice and beans . Some guacamole, sour cream and lettuce and a tomato. Sides were ok nothing special. The only thing here was the tomato , it was all wilted and sad looking. If they had omitted it, it would not have been missed. Based on this plate I would not be back. But they have other plates and maybe you’ll have better luck

First off, let preface this review by saying that I have been a patron of El Tap since they were at their original location. Over the past couple of years, the quality of their food has diminished AND their prices have increased exponentially. About 3 weeks I placed an order for pickup. When I got there, the order was almost $15 more than the online menu. I spoke to two different "managers" and all they could say was, "Sorry, ma'am." I paid $62.20 for 1 childs cheese quesadilla, 2 chicken soup, 1 veggie burrito (that was only beans and sauce, not the description on either menu), 1 side of rice, a large cheese dip and the El Tap special. Our soup was like a salt lick, the quesadilla was rubbery and everything else was just blah. Not the quality we use to get for less money. Oh, and there is a 25¢ up charge for EVERY item ordered AND 10% tip was added on top of that. I was also informed that the prices are going up again. They just lost a loyal customer. My family will drive the extra 10 minutes to go to a much better, less expensive and family owned Mexican restaurant from now on. See ya, El Tap!

3 stars because of the waitress. Onto the food: They served their complimentary salsa in a mini decanter and chips while we waited for our order. The salsa has no spice or flavor. It just tasted like tomato sauce. I asked for a spicier salsa and received it however the spicy salsa was worse! No flavor either! Ordered a guacamole on the side with the chips and that was just an avocado smashed again... No flavor. My boyfriend's ordered the horchata and it was waters down with no flavor. It tasted more like milk with water and some sugar. We then ordered the Tapatio fajita dinner for two. It had shrimp, steak, chicken and mexican chorizo with onions and green bell peppers. It was skimpy on the veggies but it did have some flavor to it. It actually tasted better the next day when we ate the rest for breakfast. I believe the chorizo's grease was the culprit for flavor! We came here because of the reviews and we were craving some Mexican food since we are from California traveling for my bf's semi business. It was a Friday and they did have a dj and karaoke that started at 9pm

I am giving this restaurant a five-star. There was a couple things wrong with the food overall good food horrible salsa

Now I travel the country Mexican food is my favorite. please don't let my opinion determine if you try it or not.

The server got the food exactly the way I wanted it served it to me and it was good I had the steak fajita. And I'll put the steak fajita above probably 80 to 90% of the Mexican restaurants I've been to. Their salsa at the dead bottom poor quality. The chips and salsa, The chips I got were just crumbs, you could taste the can from the salsa. I cannot stand canned salsa.. The first thing that comes to mind when I get canned salsa is poor quality food. I did order queso and even that I was disappointed in because it was too runny.

I got really good service here. The food was really good. The owner probably needs me or another Mexican to show them how to make salsa. When restaurants start giving out canned salsa it makes me think of white person owns it. Most people actually like to go to Mexican restaurants because of the chips and dip. It's something a Mexican restaurant should take pride on. I cannot explain how horrible their saw size and I'm going to keep going on about how horrible it was they are dead last on their salsa. It would be better for you to go home and water down some dog food and use it for bean dip then try their salsa. But I still gave them five stars just for the food

I had to come back just to continue on about how horrible the salsa was. Go to a gas station and get yourself a V8 original non-spicy. Add extra can to it. And now you got...

Tried to go for lunch today but after waiting more than 10min just to get a table I left (they have a sign that says wait to be seated) they wasn't busy only about 6 tables of customers was there. 2 different employees saw me but said nothing. So this was only my second time there and the first time wasn't good either but I thought I would give them a second chance and they blew it. I will just have to keep going to Villa Rica or Carrollton for Mexican food. So now I writing a new review of of tapatio, it has been over year since my last visit here and since then I have met the owner and have discussed my previous visit here and after a few meetings with him cause he comes to my job, I have finally decided to give them another chance but they really blew it, I went there and wanted to place a to go order but the girl at the front counter tells me I will have to leave and call in for a Togo order also that when I come back to pick it up I need to come in the back door, I don't know what is on there menu or even know what there price is for anything and wasn't even offered a menu. Will not be returning, to me it seems like they don't want my business since this is a second time that I have gone there and wasn't even able to order anything. Will never return and will be sure to let the owner know...
