Horrible Service! I was going to wait until tomorrow to leave this review. But I'm upset enough, I feel like I need to do it now. Today is Sunday Aug 11th. 8:30pm. We sat down in the corner booth with our family of 5. We were seated by the hostess. She was very nice. A young man brought chips and salsa to our table. The waitress was a young lady. But obviously not the most intelligent person. She came to the table to take our drink order. She was writing it down, but I guess she can't read her own writing. She repeated it back wrong. Thought we had it corrected, but I guess she lost her drink order. Because she brought the wrong drinks.... how hard can it be when 3 of the 5 drinks are tea..... Okay, move forward.. she comes back 2 min later for the food order. She takes the order... and get this... she NEVER came back to the table. A nice young man brought the food out. Asked if we needed anything. And another young man brought us more chips. The waitress never came back to ask if we needed anything. She never came to refill drinks. We start to stand up to leave, and we are looking around for our waitress so we can pay.. where is she?? She is at the bar, chatting it up, flirting with 2 guys. She finally comes over as we have all gotten up from the table. I said "oh there you are, haven't seen you, thought you left!" She had no response. The food was delicious as always. It's why it's our favorite place to stop on our drive. I have it bookmarked in my favorites on Google maps. But if we ever walk in there and see her again, I will not have her as my waitress! And a piece of advice for the pretty young lady. Looking so desperate for attention is not that attractive. A real man would respect a hard-working woman who...
Read moreI have ordered breakfast tacos from this place a few times, and today I was needing a quick bite on the way back from Dallas, so I stopped in and ordered the same Carne Guisada taco I have ordered previously, and I blew off the fact that the order taker was not very friendly. Rudely telling customers to just "pull to the window" does not exactly exude friendly customer service. I think I have the idea of a drive-thru down after all these years, and I kinda know where to go after ordering at the speaker. What really upset me, and made me realize this business is not one I want to spend my hard-earned dollars with is when the rude order taker tried to charge me more for the same taco I have ordered previously. I asked him why it was more today, and he said it was more during lunch hours. I told him it was the same taco I always order, with the same ingredients, and I actually had to wait in line longer just to order it today. If anything, it should be cheaper if I have to sacrifice more to get it! He didn't even try to make it right, so I simply told him he could keep it! I will also tell everyone I know about their trying to take advantage of customers to nickle and dime them for more money. Successful businesses understand that treating regular customers right is how you keep them coming back! Other businesses try to screw people, and they lose more in the end when their regular customers eventually go elsewhere! This place has lost my business for good! Luckily, I found El Sombrero Tapatio in Temple for much friendlier service, lower prices, and MUCH better...
Read moreThe food here is decent, but the customer service is terrible. I purchased soup through the drive thru and was charged $2 more than the amount on the drive-thru menu. When I questioned this, the "owner" Orlando said the prices had changed 2 months ago and that he did not have to change the menu outside. I then stated that I did not want the soup for that price (a small soup for $6), and wanted my money back. He refused to give me back credit, and only offered a gift card. It was so hot outside, I gave up arguing, and took the gift card. I let him know that I planned to tell others about the terrible customer service. He did not seem to care. A week later I looked up the gift card balance on the internet. The balance was zero. I went back to the restaurant and spoke to a different manager. She told me that the gift card machine had been out of service for several months and could not believe the owner had refused me refund and tried to give me a bogus gift card which he knew did not work. She said he was crazy, and gladly gave me a full refund. She even said that service was slowing down mostly because of the owners attitude! Pretty sad when comments like that come from management about the owner. I refuse to give someone like that my business. There are plenty of great Mexican restaurants in Temple. I recommend Little Mexico which is right next to Taqueria. El Pollo Rico is great too, and the service is much better! By the way, "Orlando" owns all the Taquerias, including the one on Midway and in Belton. I would not go to any them if I...
