I came here last night with my friend after a concert. We definitely looked a little rough but we were starving and ready to eat. It took over 8minutes for us to be sat because the third shift lady was on a personal phone call. We get sat, then she gets our drink order and takes over 15minutes to bring our drinks.. she then waits another 15 minutes to get our order. That means that weâve now been there for over a half an hour at this point. She doesnât write down our order she repeats it back wrong to us, and keeps asking us questions as sheâs putting it in. It was a pretty simple order. Chicken finger dinner with loaded cheese fries, and zesty nachos with no sour cream or pico on it. My friend got the nachos and it had a super small amount of queso on it, and my cheese fries had no queso on it. As soon as she put it down I told her it was wrong so that way it could be corrected. She told me I should have specified what I wanted. I told her I had asked for loaded cheese fries and she told me they were no longer on the menu. I said Iâm sorry thatâs the case but as a waitress you should have known to ask if I wanted them like how they used to be when they were still on the menu because I didnât know. She decided to bring me a pot of queso which took another 15minutes.. so of course my fries are cold at this point which I informed her and her response was âOf course they are coldâ in a very rude and condescending way. Itâs not my fault that the fries are cold. She then yells to the kitchen to drop the fries and goes to another customer and starts bashing us to them while Iâm eat shot of us so we of course said something because thatâs super innapropiate and not okay at all. I demanded her managers info and she then started gossiping with the customer again. The two waitresses who were on day shift who were still there because of this lady went and got the manager for me, her name was Emily. Emily wasnât super sincere or apologetic about this situation. We left because we were reasonably angry that after an hour of being there my food still wasnât right and our waitress was extremely disrespectful the entire time. I have never had such a horrible waiting...
Read moreThis place is an absolute joke. Avoid this place at all costs. I came in during lunchtime and was seated. Here we are in dead of winter and they have the AC running. I found I was sitting under a vent and decided to change seats. It was still too cold. I ordered the "Pot Roast Bowl" and a side of toasted English Muffins. The food didn't arrive for 30 minutes! The English muffins came 10 minutes later. As I began to eat, I found the food was luke warm at best. It's obvious the plates are kept in warmers as the plate was hotter than the food! I didn't complain. Then I went up to pay my bill. I waited at the counter with my bill in clear sight. An older short woman with red-dyed hair came up to the counter and immediately began to process another person's bill just arriving to the counter, completely ignoring me! Now im completely upset! When she was done, I asked her why she allowed someone to jump in front of me to pay the bill? She replied that she thought I was waiting for a table. I replied that my bill was clearly visible on the counter countering with a completely insincere apology. I stated she should be sorry. Not able to leave well enough alone, she mumbled under her breath "Well excuse the f... outta me". Then has the gall to ask me if I wanted to leave a tip! I left very upset. I went into the Flying J store to ask who manages the restaurant. A woman, who was behind me, overheard me and stated she was sorry for my bad experience. I realized she works in the restaurant. I asked her who the manager was and she stared she is there, but is cooking because they were so short-staffed. I'm so sick and tired of hearing how short-staffed these places are! A restaurant manager absolutely can not manage a restaurant effectively if they are stuck in the kitchen cooking. I've been to many Denny's across the country, and it's the same sad state of affairs in each one. The only way to wake up this restaurant chain IS TO STOP PATRONIZING their restaurants! I will not be in any Denny's restaurants again! Close this place down, you're not doing...
Read moreWe're traveling the country so we eat at restaurants all across the country. Denny's is generally one of our favorites, but not this particular one, unfortunately.
We ate here two mornings in a row. Both mornings the hostess wa gruff to the point of being rude. The first morning the restaurant was slightly busy so we just chalked it up to that. This morning there were only a few tables occupied. No need for the (literal) huff when we said we'd prefer a booth.
Our waitress this morning was the type that won't let you finish a sentence. We were disappointed in the portion of the breakfast potatoes we received yesterday (much smaller than other Denny's), and when I was trying to explain our concern while99 ordering the same this morning she cut me off 3 different times to say there's nothing that can be done because it's a pre-portioned amount -- they must get this complaint often -- then she walked away before I had finished ordering. By walking away she missed getting the information about the items we would NOT need with the meal, thereby costing the restaurant more in food cost. And then, of course, she was irritated, which showed for the rest of the meal.
The meal arrived with tough, luke warm eggs, a pitifully meager portion of potatoes, and pancakes without the whipped cream. The whipped cream was remedied, the rest was not. We only got two coffee call-backs, and no check to see if everything was okay with the food.
In addition to the above, this is not the cleanest of places. Some of our flatware this morning had to be replaced because it wasn't clean. And the ladies room both days has needed serious attention: dirty toilets (blood one day, feces the next), out of toilet paper, out of paper towels, NO seat covers, trash all over the floor. This may not be Denny's responsibility, but these are the restrooms available to diners, so... The other option would be to walk back to the bathroom in the professional drivers lounge -- not a comfortable thing for some women.
All in all, you can get an adequate meal here, but I wouldn't...
