Lorenzo's Mexican Grille — Restaurant in Tennessee

This was my 2nd and unfortunately last time I will go here as well as my family. My mom placed a to go order for 7 people. The gentleman who took her order read the order back to her and it was correct. When I went to pickup the dinner for her, they handed me one bag of food and one bag of chips. I asked if that was all of since it didn’t seem like enough and they told me it was. I brought it home and sure enough only 2 of the meals were correct and we were missing 2 whole meals. I went back and spoke with a gentleman who was beyond nice and apologetic. He said he was going to make it right and asked me to wait. After about 5 minutes, a female employee came out of left field and threw the food towards me and stated that even though I was wrong “he” is not charging me. I calmly explained the situation and she kept cutting me off and raising her voice at me. Again, I calmly stated what we ordered and she cut me off and got even louder. That’s when I asked for the receipt so I can see what I was charged for since I paid $42 ($50 with tip) and wanted to see the breakdown since I paid cash. She stated she couldn’t find it and again proceeded to say I was wrong and she’s the one who put our order together and knows it is right. She then told me to leave.

It is very unfortunate that this happened as we have sent many people to them as well as defended them on Nextdoor when people have bad mouthed them. Unfortunately, they have lost customers today and we will no longer be...

Surprisingly good food. I say that because of the location and appearance inside and out wouldn’t lead you to expect too much. Also, chips were stale or otherwise unimpressive. But from there, it all got better. The salsa provided with the chips was flavorful and spicy. Loved that. Not a fan of bland salsas.

My bride had the fajita chicken salad and really enjoyed it. Chicken was flavorful but not overpowering. Made with peppers and onions. Hot stuff was thoughtfully placed on the bottom of the crispy shell while cooler salad items on top so they didn’t get wet or soggy.

I had the steak fajita grilled quesadilla with peppers, onions, and I asked them to add grilled jalapeños. I was impressed. The steak strips were very tender and had good flavor. The jalapeños were done just right and spiced it up for me to a nice heat. I requested that the quesadilla be grilled extra crispy and they nailed it. Perfect.

Service was great. They were patient as we took our time to order and our seemingly happy waiter was attentive to us but not a pest. He was very nice. All in all, a good experience. If you’re in Tellico Village and need a Mexican fix, don’t hesitate. Also, there aren’t any...

My wife and I have loved 😍 Lorenzos since he (Lorenzo) first opened Pollo Mexican Restaurant in Lenoir City around 3 decades ago. He was such a kind and gentle man. He passed away 😢 many years ago, but when his family moved the business to a Tellico Village location and renamed it in honor of him, he is there in the most treasured picture on the wall. He is missed by his family and all of the patrons whose lives he touched. We have loved 😍 the most delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine they offer. And it remains a family 👪 owned business.
