We have been here several times. This place used to be our absolute favorite pizza place. However, 3 of the last 4 times, the service has been slow. The first 2 times, the owner and waitress were both very apologetic and let us know what was going on (oven down both times) and we had no issues since they were still attentive and making sure we were taken care of while we waited. Our issue was with this last visit. We arrived around 6:45 and got seated by 7. Orders were placed quickly and we got our drinks quickly, but one fountain drink was off with the flavor so we had asked for a new one and never got it until we asked again about 15 mins later. Then our appetizers came out but the pretzels didn't have the cheese dip since they had run out and had to make more (cheese was brought out after awhile and they did discount this app for us). After we finished those, another 10 mins or so goes by and we started noticing the tables that got sat after us were getting their pizzas. Ok, a little strange but maybe they didn't get appetizers. Then more time goes by and we are starting to look for our waitress to see where our food is. We finally catch her eye as she walks by and she tells us she will be right back. She then went and helped another table, then went around the other side of the restaurant to the kitchen and doesn't come back to our table. Several more mins go by and at this point it is around 8. The waitress stops at the table next to us to give them their check and then turns to us and says she has ours as well. That's when we were finally able to tell her that we never got our pizza and wings. She went back to see what happened and apparently our ticket had been lost and they could either place the order then and it would be 15-20 more mins, or we could leave and not have the main meal. We got the food and it was delicious, but over 1.5 hrs wait and the lack of attentiveness regretfully has turned us away from returning to...

Here me out; I NEVER write reviews using half eaten/reheated/paper-plate-photographed food... but this, THIS pizza deserves a heartfelt no-matter-the-physical-documentation-available review.

(I do apologize for not photographing sooner in the consuming process, but to be honest, I didn't have unrealistically high expectations for this particular pizza joint. The existing reviews were "so-so," and the menu didn't depict anything truly special. Clearly, I was misled.)

We ordered this pizza today purely out of convenience, not realizing it was going to be some of the best local-to-Tennessee-pizza we'd ever eat. I've been gluten-free (by choice, not celiac) for 4 years now, and typically, pizza is an extremely underwhelming experience for me, so I didn't expect much else this time.

Surprisingly, not only did their cauliflower crust have an actual appealing flavor (🙌) it was perfectly stacked with FLAVORFUL toppings and mounded with the perfect amount of cheese (for cheese lovers, like ME) to make it an acceptable "REAL" pizza!

(I think it was called "The Hoss"?. *Pepperoni, Italian sausage (which had an amazing flavor and I highly recommend!!), and extra cheese. Then I added onions... because'duh'.)

It was a lovely UNEXPECTED surprise, and I wish we would have taken a chance on them much sooner...

EDIT returned last week after not visiting for a year or longer and it’s worse. We sat for atleast 15 minutes without so much as menus being handed to us and even worse it’s basically a Chuck E Cheese in there kids literally running around SCREAMING there was also a group of older kids singing at the top of their lungs. I couldn’t hear my own table conversation but the staff did nothing about it. We walked out. As a local who has been around since the “birth” of this place, I’m still standing firm on do not go here unless you’ve ordered carry out!

Pizza Hoss has gone very downhill. The food is still decent but service sucks (they’re always saying that they are low on staff) Often we sit for long periods of time waiting on menus or plates or basic things even though servers are standing back by the kitchen for minutes. They have a good location since there is not many options around Karns but I do think due to lack of good service and they now charge fees to pay with a credit card we will not be coming back as often. Carry out only...
