When Tequesta Coffee Lounge first opened, the concept was great. I was excited that a local family business (support local!) was providing coffee, bakery goods, and breakfast items to the small town of Tequesta. Upon many of my initial visits, I was impressed with the presentation of your product as well as your staff's attention to detail. Unfortunately, this has changed and people are beginning to talk about it. I find that within the past 6 months, there is always one person in the kitchen who seems too overwhelmed and is often asking the front staff member to repeat the orders. Most of my orders are simple and I find that waiting for an egg on a bagel to-go can be a 10-15 minute wait (and that was when I was the only person there, it's even longer when busier). The staff that work in the front do not seem to know the menu as well as they should and on top of that, they do not take the time to listen to the customers when they are ordering. Myself and many others have ended up repeating our orders back to them 3 or 4 times which is irritating. This review is not meant to be malicious in any way. My hope, if anything, is that the owners read this and can understand their company from a loyal customer's perspective. You should always want to know how to make your business better, right? A simple way to differentiate your company from the massive coffee conglomerates is to offer great service with a great product and add that small town charm in the mix. I find myself stopping at Starbucks more often on the way to work now. Your customers (local and beyond) need consistency when they return again and again. That's what can make the Tequesta Coffee Lounge a destination spot instead of a pit-stop for...
Read moreStaff is rude. Perk is the close to my home. I figured we would be frequent customers there because we love our local coffee shops. They had no decaf and refused to make any. I was overcharged for something similar. They had no kombucha in the flavor I wanted and told me I had to pay 3.00 more for the one available. I said " 3.00 more because you are out of it?", the woman at the register looked at me, like she was irritated at my very existence, and said " well, you don't have to get it if you don't want it." I wanted it. I was willing to pay 2x as much as publix for it, but not 3x as much after you were rude to me because you were out of everything I ordered. The right way to handle the situation would have been to offer your customer to wait for decaf coffee to be made ( which I would have waited, but it was never even offered) or give them the alternative at the same price. Also to give the customer the kombucha you had at the price of what they wanted to purchase. For a small business you really should be more accommodating to your customers. It's not my fault you had nothing I wanted. It's not about the money at all, but I won't pay 12.00 for 2 hot chocolates and a decaf coffee that tastes like water again only to be treated like I'm an annoyance to your business. I should have left, but my kids wanted hot chocolate. We won't be back. Disappointed. Truly...
Read morePerk is my favorite coffee house for many reasons, but primarily because of the people. Family owned and operated, you can feel the care that goes into everything they do and offer to their patrons, who are treated like family. The employees genuinely enjoy working there and that happiness is contagious. Special events are varied and relevant to their community, with something for everyone. From kids and teens, families to suits, work from homes and even the famous; all feel welcomed and appreciate the happy vibe and chill environment. The menu is varied with changes to keep things fresh, yet keeping old favorites around to keep regulars happy. Food presentation is simple and keeps with planet friendly mindfulness/less waste. You can also find a great selection of curated offerings from a variety of local artisans and craftspeople whose work helps to create and support the very neighborhood community feeling.
From the breezy, relaxed front porch seating to the genuine smiles you receive from all who work and visit, few places around, in my experience, proffer "good vibes" as suitably...
