So I came in around 630 and we walked around the store for awhile. I enjoy the store it's cute and they have some unique items. It's a nice touch the store the fireplace the rocking chairs the oldtimey vibe. So we got a table there was no wait and the hostess was very nice and friendly. Our waitress was nice but we felt rushed when we first arrived she had several tables then it was down to 2. She forgot our biscuits but we eventually got them after our food. So we ordered the desert biscuits as an app and it came out with our food and kinda laughed and said oops. So we had everything at once biscuits regular and desert and our meals. It was a little overwhelming but it's ok so the desert biscuits were tiny and not at all soft and fluffy the picture was very misleading they were overfilling the basket in person you have to lean over to see the. My son got chicken fingers and mashed potatoes he said the chicken was good but the potatoes tastes frozen like meal ones. I got the country fried chicken I was really excited until I got it the chicken was soggy dry smaller than in the photos ( another bait and switch). So I ate it but kfc would've been alot better. So I got mac&cheese as a side that was very yummy but sadly a tiny portion. I subbed a side salad for a few and that was the only the only appropriately portioned item it was yummy also. The biscuits with butter and jelly they give you are good. I had to ask a couple times but they were worth it. So I'm eating the biscuits and the rest of my meal and I asked for more butter and the waitress asked if I wanted it Togo I felt that was odd and not appropriate and a few minutes after we received our entrees she plopped the check down on the table without us asking or indicating we were in a hurry that was a buzzkill. I expect that at a diner at lunchtime but not for a lieasurely dinner. She also did that to her other table right next to us and they seemed thrown off also and after she gave them their check I saw her in the kitchen doorway smiling at her coworker doing a victory dance I felt that was inappropriate she maybe should have saved it for the kitchen in private it along with the other events made me feel unwelcome and rushed. So once they were done later on I shoved down my last biscuit and got up to I wasn't sure if she was gonna hit us with the hose if we dared stay any longer. The food was mixed I would enjoy a giant bowl of mac&cheese and biscuits and a yummy pancake if I go back. I'm unsure if the chicken is better if it's made the same day you arrive but mine was gross and seems to have shrunk in the microwave. Very sad that combined with the awkward service issues put a damper on the experience but I would give it another try during the day so I can relax and...
Read moreWent to this location on 10/26 after daughters cross country meet. Pleasantly surprised it wasn't too busy and no wait, got seated right away. That's when it went down hill from there waitress Kayla came over to great us and take drink order left and came back with drinks. We began to give her our food order country fried chicken, also had to ask for the breakfast menu she would not give it to me unless I gave the other menu back that was fine we had two other ones.order grandma sampler with French toast. Never asked how I wanted eggs cooked also told me I only had a choice of one meat. So I told what I would like watched her not write it down. Comes back a few moments later asking me what it was I wanted again. She went back to Kitchen two other tables got seated. We saw her co E back out and asked if we could get refills and the corn bread and biscuits and Kayla reply was I need to let you know my shift has ended and another waitress will be taking care of us. We said thank you but could we possibly get a drink refill before you leave or let the other server know. She oreceeeded to to tell us this again. Now we still haven't gotten food and 30 min have gone by two young ladies who came in after us sat across from us ordered same meals as us now just gotten there's and we were still waiting for ours. And the other tables also came out. We waited a bit more and decided we will let just let the hostess we are gonna leave since we have been waiting and haven't recieved our food. Instead another server saw us getting up to leave and ask if we needed help and told her how we have ordered and it how we where treated by our server and it was strange that we are sitting g her still and other tables that arrived after us have all ready been served, and the two across from us got corn bread and biscuits and we only have our empty drink glasses. She aid she we would let that manager know and see what was going on with the food. Manager came out laughing and says sorry the server just doesn't know how to communicate and she is new, your food is ready now do you want or we can bag it up for you to take with you. We decided at this point not to it's been over an hour and nicely declined, the table next to us made comments about seeing we weren't served and they were and thought it was strange, we a table of 3 and they of 2. the manager said she was still there and will have a talk with the server. Feel this was handled not professionally. We left and went up the street to another restaurant. A much better experience! My daughter wasn't to happy she always enjoy shopping in the store after. This time it...
Read moreI had never been to a Cracker Barrel before. My wife, her sister had. They were excited to have me and a family friend try it! We had gone to Boston to see the Titanic display and because our friend and I never eaten at a Cracker Barrel, we decided to stop there on our way home. We arrived at 5 PM. The place was not overly busy. We had our menu's within minutes and 3 minutes later our drinks were on the table. Our waitress came back to take our orders. My wife and I ordered the Campfire Shrimp Skillet. Sister in law got the Campfire Steak, family friend got the pot roast. We got a side of mozzarella sticks and biscuits to share while we waited for our meals. Those were delivered within 3 or 4 minutes!
Our waitress came back once to inquire if my wife and I wanted the Louisiana Shrimp or the Campfire Shrimp Skillet. We'd ordered the Campfire Shrimp Skillet.
A few minutes later a party of 6 came in and sat on the other side of the room where a different waitress was working. Their orders were taken and within 16 minutes, they had their meals on the table. We were still waiting. Another couple came in and sat directly across from us. They ordered and had their meals delivered. They'd been there for 12 minutes. (Yes, I was timing it!) The only issue was that couple had ordered the Campfire Steak and the waitress brought them Campfire Chicken. At that point she apologized for the delay on our meals. She said it would be another 20 minutes and brought us more biscuits.
2 more couples came in and had their meals on the table within 15 minutes, or less. We finally got our meals after waiting for 45 minutes. My wife and I started eating our Campfire Shrimp and discovered that we'd both ended up with the Louisiana Shrimp. We were hungry so we ate it anyway. The dish comes with 2 red potatoes. The 2 potatoes on my plate were tiny, the size of golf balls. My wife's 2 potatoes were big, the size of tennis balls. She gave me one of hers.
I can honestly say that I've now been to Cracker Barrel TWICE! For the first time, and the last time. It would be one thing if EVERY guest had to wait for 45 minutes to get their meal. It was just us. We did ask the waitress why there was such a long delay in getting our meals. It was obvious that she knew the reason but she would not tell us.
Yep, first time... and last time......
