We’ve visited this place three times now, and unfortunately, this last experience completely ruined it for us. The first two visits were enjoyable — no window ordering, just a more relaxed and comfortable dining experience. Now, it’s become tedious and frustrating. Right away, we had to order at the window. With a line of people behind us, there was pressure to order quickly without really getting a chance to look at the menu. Later, when we wanted to add a few items to go, we waited for the line to die down and asked a server if we could place another order. We were told again to get up and order at the window. So we did. When our food finally came out, we realized we were missing a couple of things we had definitely mentioned earlier. We asked the server, thinking it would be a quick fix — but instead of just correcting the order on the spot, we were once again directed to go back to the window and reorder. At that point, we were mentally checked out. To be clear, the waitstaff has always been nice and respectful every time we’ve come — they’re not the problem. The system they’re forced to follow now is. It’s just pure nonsense. It felt like we spent more time walking back and forth than actually sitting and eating. Every small issue meant getting back in line, and it honestly started to feel like we were doing more work than the staff. This wasn’t a meal — it was a chore. And for what? Mediocre food that didn’t even feel worth the effort by the end. What should’ve been a simple meal turned into a frustrating back-and-forth that completely took away from the experience. Food should feel like a break, a moment to enjoy — but instead, it felt like we were constantly being pushed back into a line, no matter what the issue was. And at that point, the food didn’t even matter anymore. I ended up boxing my meal and leaving, not because I was full, but because I was done. When a restaurant makes it this hard to enjoy a meal, it’s just not worth...
Read moreMost unplesant experience. So upset over the dinning experience. First time visit here. Had to ordered at window with 10+ people waiting behind me so definitely felt the pressure to order without taking a good look at menu. There was a lot of people in line behind us so when we wanted some items to go we decided to order after these clients had place their order. I ask server if I can order food to go she tells me to get up and order at window. Fine, I do that. When we received half of our order, My moms ask if they have charro beans, yes but get up and pay at window, I had to wait in line behind 2 people ordering. My mom realizes a few min later she did not received some items she ordered, server figures out it they didnt charge it so they didnt make it. Of course my mom still wants it since she wants to complete her meal. Whrn we tell the server we want them to add to our order she says "you have to get up and order at the window" again, wait behind people waiting in line to order again. By the time I took a bite of my taco is fridge temperature cold and can feel the manteca room temperature. The whole reason I eat out is to have someone else they care of me while I eat for once. Getting up to pay everytime you need something else, especially because they forgot to charge it is ridiculous. I was hesitant to tip since I was the one getting up every 5 min. I work in the service industry so I ended up leaving a tip. Taste is average/some items are better than other so definetely not worth the hassle of their system. Vampiro tortilla was stale. I was too upset to keep eating by the time I finished all my ordering that I asked for a box to go. Never coming here again. 1 time was more...
Read moreOur culinary journey led us to Ana Liz Taqueria in Mission, inspired by a recent read about a Mission-based Chef's James Beard Award nomination. The atmosphere exudes a charming coziness, with a snug yet comfortable seating area. Our table was graced with homemade toasted corn tortillas accompanied by an array of tantalizing sauces, all artistically presented.
Each salsa boasted an impressive burst of flavors, setting the tone for our meal. My son's choice, the Quesadilla Deshebrada, was a hit - impeccably prepared and generously portioned. Intrigued, we opted for a Fajita Taco, ordered individually, and its taste didn't disappoint; it was a delightful fusion of flavors.
As for my own selection, the Flautas, they showcased the establishment's commitment to crafting everything in-house, resulting in a satisfying dish. However, the pinnacle of our experience arrived with the arrival of the Frijoles Charros Especials. A personal favorite of mine, Frijoles Charros, was elevated to new heights here. The incorporation of fajita and pork rinds into the dish was a stroke of genius that left a lasting impression.
Summing up, our visit was a delightful experience. The dishes exuded a distinct homemade essence that resonated with each bite. The service was both attentive and efficient, adding to the overall enjoyment. Ana Liz Taqueria has secured its spot on my revisit list, thanks to its remarkable flavors and memorable...
