Buona Bora Pizza — Restaurant in Texas

6/4/21 - new pizza place near Barker Cypress & Clay. Their pizza crust is advertised as being wheat. They have a pretty comprehensive menu of well-priced subs and pizzas (salads, etc). Their pizza: my wife said it was ok, my daughter loved the crust; I think it tasted different (wheat vs white flour), perhaps a bit over done, but fluffy, and crisp in the right places. The pizza sauce was nothing special, the cheese had just the right about of fat, too little fat content in cheese and its horrible, too much and its too greasy - this was perfect. The cheese steak: They nailed it. I am very particular about cheese steaks having grown up not far from Philly. The bread, while not Amoroso - which is the correct bread for a Philly cheesesteak- is a pretty good substitute. The meat was cooked and seasoned perfectly, which just the right amount of cheese, mayo, onion (I don't like bell peppers, and I do like mushrooms in mine). After living in Texas for 15 yrs, finally a place in 77084 that can cook a cheesesteak. We also ordered a Greek salad. We haven't eaten it yet, but it looks as expected. Only issue: we had to give our address no less than 10 times, spelling it carefully in Spanish and in English. Also, the cold salad was delivered in the same hot bag as the pizza. I learned about this local hidden gem from a neighbor's suggestion on the Nextdoor App. Tired of ordering from the same run of the mill pizza options, we decided to visit Buona mainly to support them as a local business and were pleasantly surprised by how good their pizza is. We ordered a Large hand tossed pizza with pepperoni, green peppers and black olives. I immediately noticed the freshness of the ingredients and really loved how the sauce was not acidic at all. Buona is so much more than pizza with offerings such as subs, wings and pasta plates. Rene and Victoriano who run the shop were so kind they even included a sample of their delicious Buona Rolls with our order! I ordered carry out And just got home from picking up my pizza. First I would like to say how pleasant, patient and nice everyone was. I didn’t get a chance to take photos because me and my kids ate half the box on our way home and as soon as we got home we finished the rest, hands down one of the best pizza’s I’ve ever tasted down to the crust and I’m pregnant so y’all know I’m not lying lol .
