Stopped at El Pato, Pharr- old business 83 for lunch. Stood in line, mngr did not acknowledge my presence, looked to be frustrated and l I ke a chicken without a head. I placed my order and sat away from the cashier area by the windows. All of the sudden, I heard manager scolding an employee. Employee seemed Anglo. He was yelling at him in front of customers. That totally pussed me off. Not the time or place to be doing that. I got up and went to the counter. Another customer was in line complaining about a wrong order. As I was about to speak, the employee had my plate and called out my name. I told him I wasn't going to take it and needed my money back. The manager asked why, I told him I did not appreciate the way he was treating his employee. I also told the employee not to let manager treat him in that demeanor. The employee responded he wasnt learning to which I told him it wasnt his fault, the. Manager should never refer to an employee in such manner. I also told manager he should get out of the business ess if he was going to be with that attitude. I requested the corporate number to what he just pointed at the receipt which doesn't have the corporate number but rather the store phone number. I later went to the San Juan location and requested the number. I called several times on various options, for Solis, and Bocanegra or something like that...ext 35 and 21 to which I did not get an answer or call back. I wonder if the way the management was acting was on his own action or of its coming down from leadership in corporate since no one seems to care enough to answer phone, call back from left vms or reply back to email. Not going back to that location. No need to reply either. Done...
Read moreI'll just say this, if you want to have a pleasant experience and have the choice to go to the El Pato on 10th St, go there instead. This location is the closest I go to for my lunch break and honestly it's different every time.
I go through the drive thru and 80% of the time I'm (not) greeted by a rude employee with a snappy attitude. While I understand the frustrations of working in a restaurant, I don't condone the disrespectful attitude especially when I'm friendly. I dock points off for the service.
Food wise it's also hit or miss, but overall it's okay. Sometimes when I order tacos and I receive them and open the box, they're just thrown in there or barely have meat. Plus, I can tell when food has been left out for a while and they start to taste a little stale or flavorless. Nonetheless, it's still fairly good and edible.
However, if I had the option to go over the location on 10th...
Read more9-11-2025 been a while since I stopped at this legendary location or ate el pato since original revieiw so I gave it a shot today only to be let down. Asked for 2 migas con huevo with beans and a single chicken with cheese and beans. They only gave us 1 migas with no beans and the chicken with no cheese. We got charged for it but didn't get it . Fix the microphone and train employees better man c'mon.
Place is a hit or miss. 2nd time they mess up my order 10-9-2021. Food is delicious. They forgot the beans in my migas and the bacon in the other tacos. I was charged for it but wasn't given it. Not gonna waste my time driving all the way back either.
10-26-2021 i was contacted by the owner as you can see but i did not respond. My reviews are honest and i don't want free food or money back. All i care is that the issues get fixed.
P.S. had my migas, egg and beans yesterday....
