This place is amazing. Can't remember the mngr name but he is on top of things.

The granddaughter who has waited on us is amazing, the 2 gals that waited on us sat 1/30/21 were great (can't recall any of these names, I even wrote them down but can't find my note, Imagine that)

The CF Steak is unreal, you sure don't need a knife, have ate all over USA and eat lots of CF Steak and nobody can come close except my wife homemade from scratch but sometime you mite need a knife (not often )

Took our grandkids and daughter-in-law on sat 1/30/21 and they were just in awe, food outstanding. Service above and beyond, prices are reasonable especially for quality of food and amount you get . It be cheap at twice the price

They are picky picky eaters, especially the youngest grandson and he tried things he never would and he is a fan of CF Steak and pecan pie now.

My grandma made best pecan pie in world and let me tell you this is beyond that, I mean deep fried pecan pie is crazy great, peach cobbler is great and I am not a French fry fan but I eat GCW fries as they are wonderful.

A person just can't say enough about this place. We live in Clovis, NM and drive 200 mile round trip to eat at GCW at least once a month. I know it a damn good thing we don't live closer as we would take up residency there and they would have to claim us on their taxes.

If you haven't been there you have to go, if you have you know what I am talking about. Just can't say enough about GCW. We tell everyone about GCW.

They ought to hire me as their spokesman but they probably don't need one as everything is top shelf and you go once you are hooked.

Like I say "cheap at twice the...

Everything here was great, from a friendly hostess who sat me immediately, to my fantastic server Jaime, who was genuinely friendly and prompt without rushing, to the food which was prepared nearly perfectly.

I ordered a Green Chille Burger with onion rings and an 8oz sirloin with texas toast, pan fried sweet corn and a house salad with balsamic. Jaime was perfect in explaining options and asking my preferences. I was not offered an option for the burger doneness, though, and it came out well done. Maybe that just how they do their burgers, I'm not sure. Either way, it was delicious. Only other thing with the burger was that I asked for no mustard and still go mustard. I'm a ketchup guy with my burgers, but I don't hate mustard so I didn't mention the mixup.

The steak was ordered medium rare and came out near perfect. It was delicious on its own, as a steak should be. The sides were all great as well, especially the onion rings, which in most restarts, I find bland and in need of dipping sauce. The batter they use here is perfect on its own.

I even tried their homemade apple cobbler for dessert, and I'm not a dessert guy. It was good, but I'll try the peach cobbler next time.

Jaime kept my iced tea full throughout my meal and offered me an extra tea to go, which I graciously accepted. The menu said they offer unlimited refills of tea/coffee/water but I only 1 refill of sodas.

Overall, this was the best overall restaurant experience I've had in many months, if not longer. So far, I'd say the best in Amarillo(ish). I will certainly be returning here as soon...

This was one of my most favorite spots to go eat at, not because it was the best , or the least expensive, but because of how they specialized in what they did! We hadn't been here in over 3 years, covid, then getting back to normal, etc Their menu used to be only a page or maybe 2, I am not 100 percent sure on that, but what I am sure of is that we went here for the burgers all season long and they were in the top 5 restaurants in my opinion as effing great burgers 🍔 But since the last time we had been there, their menu has expanded to 4 or 5 pages with lots more to offer, now I'm extremely excited about that, more options to choose from, not the same ol same menu time after time, but some of us like familiarity, and as a result, keep in mind this is my opinion only, I feel that they lost some of that "special" they had!! The food is good but just not as good as in previous years of eating here Could be multiple factors in play, but I'm only going off my most recent visit. Now the 1 thing I am most certain about is during the cold months they make green Chile soup and that is to die for, just makes you feel all gooey inside after the first bite, but when they do have be sure to get there early because they usually sell out of it almost on a daily basis. Ill will try another visit and see if this experience was just a mishap Be safe, have fun,...

OmGGG! This is one of those gems one hopes to find tucked away somewhere along life's journeys. The food, off the charts folks!!! Their prices, unbelievable in this day of $20 minimum for one person. I had the Jimmie's Sampler, which is 3 small chicken fried steaks... yes, THREE of em, all fixed a bit differently. The price was a mere $11! With the ample sides included, it was enough to fill 2 of us. Their pinto beans... WOW! The green beans, Heavenly!!! In fact, I've never tasted green beans quite like Green Chili Willy's... they simply MUST be experienced, I don't have the vocabulary to describe 'em. I could have eaten a monster bowl of those alone... they're that good! The atmosphere, awesome as well. Fast service, superrr sweet and friendly staff, it's the total package folks! If something sweet is on your agenda, give the FRIED PECAN PIE a try... yes, they went there! Talk about sprinkles on an already perfect meal... Stop on by, go out of your way if you have to, I promise you won't be disappointed. 😋😋😋 The only issue I had was seeing a young male cook with a cell phone in his hand while in the kitchen. If he had any idea what all is on that thing... from ecoli to, well, you can imagine since they go everywhere, including the bathroom. Other than that, this was a stellar experience. -¼ ☆ for the cook's lack of cooth.

Green Chili Willie’s | Classic Texas Diner Vibes with a Few Surprises After a lot of convincing, I finally got my husband to check out Green Chili Willie’s with me. We walked into a packed (and surprisingly huge) waiting room and waited about 45 minutes, which seems to be the norm. While I was in the restroom, a loud argument broke out over someone’s kids—definitely not what I expected during dinner—but the owner stepped in quickly and shut it down. Props to him for handling it. Once seated, the service was fast and friendly. The staff were clearly busy but still on top of things. We both ordered chicken fried steak—his with jalapeño gravy, mine with the regular. His was a little too crispy (borderline burnt), while mine was cooked just right. The sides were the real winners here: the green chili mac and cheese was flavorful and creamy, and the loaded baked potato hit the spot. We finished off with dessert. I tried their deep-fried pie—definitely the highlight of the night—and my husband went for the banana pudding, which he said was solid. Overall? Green Chili Willie’s is good, no-frills dinner food. Nothing fancy, just hearty plates and a casual Texas atmosphere. Not sure I’d wait 45 minutes again, but for a comfort food fix, it gets the job done.
