A small mom & pop shop with a big taste.
I’ve read some of the reviews here and I’d like to clarify some things.
Kolaches must be warmed up to be soft, don’t overdo it otherwise it’ll be hard bread, but don’t do it too little or it won’t be good.
The icing depends on the weather. I’ve noticed that during the hot and humid days, the icing melts. However if I say I transported in my car which I have the AC blasting then bring it inside the house where the AC is also blasting, the icing will hold. It’s just how it is here and Texas.
Now I’ve had the kolache and a cream filled chocolate bar, and I must say. The kolaches are super soft and the donut with the filling is actually filled with filling. I hate it when some places skimp on that but they don’t here and I’m very happy about that.
Like with any place, sometimes you might find them on an off day but for this place, so far I haven’t had it where their products were way off.
I encourage anybody to stop in here and give their donuts and...

My girlfriend and I have been coming to Kolache Bar ever since the first location opened on Westheimer and despite the growth they've seen over the years, the quality of food has only gotten better and better, which often isn't the case for local restaurants that start to expand. We've been greeted with the same smiling faces ever since the first time we stepped into a Kolache Bar and we leave with that contagious smile on our faces after every visit.
Nate (the owner) and his family are truly passionate about providing the highest quality service to our community and it's evident in how delicious the food is. They care about their customers on a real level, not just as numbers. Kolache Bar is not only the best kolache spot in town, but is honestly one the most well-run establishments in Houston. You're doing yourself a disservice if you...
Read moreMan these small kolaches are the best, however, the owner is the most disrespectful liar I've ever encountered. I drove across town with my kids to get these great small kolaches and when I walk in I see half a tray of kolaches that look like they've been overcooked and there most of the morning and just as I'm looking this worker brings out a fresh tray of the kolaches I want and takes away the old kolaches. Walks to the back with both trays. Another worker comes out and I say I'd like "that kind" of kolache and he walks to the back and brings out the old tray. He's followed by the owner and I ask them if they have the other tray and the owner says these are all they have and I said I just saw the lady with the other tray of kolaches and he gets mad and says these out here are all we have. I told them I didn't want the kolaches and I wouldn't be back and he got flustered and said bye. Great kolaches, but a liar straight to your face loses a...
