It was national hotdog day, and they had a special. I went for my first time to try it and to see what I thought of the place. I wasn't expecting much more than a regular weiner in the hot dog, like you'd get at Sonic or DQ. Well, surprisingly they had a nice meaty sausage of some sort with just the right amount of spice, and all the usual trimmings with really great cheese on it! It was SO much better than I expected! 5 stars for that! As far as I could tell, the place was spotless. The bathroom was clean. The staff was very busy cooking, etc., but they were very polite and helpful. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was for atmosphere. It was very clean, but very stark and nothing cozy or comforting about it. The kind of diner type furniture that makes a place kind of echo, since there's nothing to absorb the sound. But, you don't really come for atmosphere to a sub shop, so I would give it a 4.5 overall. Loved the quality food and friendly staff, so...

I used to work for Lenny's (not this location) in 2008-2010. Came in and had a deluxe club (roast beef, turkey, bacon). Bread was fresh. All meats and cheeses are cut fresh, off the block. The quality of the meat was pretty excellent as well. The ladies working there were knowledgeable and very sweet. I do know from working there, we usually used bagged lettuce, but it can vary by location (franchise); the veggies tasted very fresh nonetheless. I was a tad disappointed that the Lenny's brand chips were out of stock, but with supply chain in disarray it is understandable. My family and I once loved this place. The bread and sandwiches are the best we've found in Houston. However, the operating hours are completely unreliable. They close for random reasons at random times without any change to their hours listed online. We have driven to this location twice now only to find unprofessional handwritten notes on the door: "Closed for Mother's Day" and "Closed at 4pm." It doesn't help that no one ever answers the phone, even when they are open. It rings and automatically goes to a voicemail. I really wish the management would get its act together because I would love to stop spending time/gas just to be...
