Mi Recuerdo Colombian & Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Texas

I really enjoy my experience and food here. The owner and his wife along with the staff is always friendly and helpful. I eat here at least 3-4 times a week. This is really the BEST! THE CLEANEST Colombian restaurant. Their kitchen is always clean!!! I am very picky and observant and I have to say there’s nothing bad I can say about this place. The food is truly authentic... the flavor is always consistent, flavorful, and honestly in every bite it feels like I’m in Colombia. I can’t get enough of their food. They’re reasonable price! The service is very friendly and consistent! I like the fact that it’s a small family oriented restaurant, it’s less overwhelming for customers. I have a favorite dish it’s the paisa, I have also tried their other dishes as well! They’re all so delicious l! Kudos...

I went to this place because they have good reviews , but my food was awful, I didn’t like the bandeja paisa at all, I know what Colombian food is, I love it, but the bandeja paisa from this restaurant was simple and no flavor at all. The plate was full of white rice no flavor, beans no flavor, chicharrón was two tiny pieces and the sausage was so small . Awful experience the lady who was there was very rude, not friendly at all. My son’s food was bad too. I know the bandeja paisa it’s a big plate, they gave me a very small plate with a bunch of rice and tiny little piece of meat. Never ever will come here. Very small, very good restaurant. This was one of the restaurants on Houston Chronicle's Top 25 Hole in the Wall restaurants, and I see why. I wanted to make sure I had a dish they are known for, Ropa Vieja. Full of flavor! The juices from the meat seasoned the rice well. That seasoned rice went great with the beans. The only thing that could maybe be improved is how much rice they put on each plate. It's a lot of rice!

To accompany my main fish, I ordered one Pandebono and some Agua de Piña. Delicious! The agua had no pulp, but was very tasty. Not too sweet either. The Pandebono I had never had (or heard of before). They are dangerous little things. Very tasty, and just small enough to want 20 more 😂.
