Roasti Pollo — Restaurant in Texas

We come here all the time. We moved to the neighborhood early this year and haven’t had a bad experience since we started coming here roughly once a week. We typically eat in the restaurant and order around dinner time. We have been by for lunch, though, and during the week it’s hopping. Very quick, and the food is always piping hot with crisp, buttery arepas. At this point, we’ve tried most of the entrees. I don’t recall having had the pleasure of eating beef tongue before now, but it’s tender and has good flavor here. The arroz con pollo is always good, but some times it’ll have more bell peppers, etc., than other times. The bandeja paisa is consistently good, and the chicharrones are top notch and remind us of our trip to the Dominican Republic. I personally haven’t had the chicken drums/wings, but my family like them. And the maduros/sweet plantains are sublime. The mushroom chicken is another of my favorites, and I always get their guanabana (soursop) juice with milk (so good). They don’t always have tres leches, but when they do, there’s usually a quarter inch of milk at the bottom of the container because the cake simply can’t soak it all in. 8/28/20 I visited the very beautiful establishment, I ordered a whole chicken 2 sides, beans and yuca frita, Arroz con pollo, 6 empanadas, bandeja paisa,coconut flan, Sancocho de Pollo, and a Colombiana soda...I spoke to a young Salvadorian lady very sweet and another very amicable young lady. I spent $63.00...The Chicken was fantastic 👏, the empanadas delicious with ahi, the yuca was cooked to perfection...here is were things take a turn for the worst, the beans were terrible looked like the came straight out the kidney bean can. 😭 ...the flan was mediocre at best to much flour...THE SANCOCHO WAS DISGUSTING A DISGRACEFUL ATTEMPT AT MAKING AN AMAZING SOUP FROM MY BELOVED COLOMBIA 🇨🇴 ...When we poured it at home in a bowl it was grey water, 2 inch plantain, half a smashed potato and a chicken wing wrapped in skin...we threw it away! Terrible just terrible, pay more attention to authenticity this is a country's beloved plate! Its gonna take a while to unsee such a horror AGUA DE POZO🤮🤢🤮! This is it!!! There are soooooo many overrated places here in Houston offering Colombian food, and to be honest, I get so mad when they’re all about the price, the name and the popularity, that they forget to 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘮𝘣𝘪𝘢𝘯: 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘤, 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘺, 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭, 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴!!

Let me tell, the amount of 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘮𝘣𝘪𝘢𝘯 places I’ve been here is long, and I named them, they’d probably be mad for all I have to say…

…but then there’s Roasti Pollo 🥹♥️ Their food is sooooo good! I ordered the Colombiana burger for my son, and he was so happy with it, I went back again today and I ordered another one!

Last time I came here I ordered the rotisserie chicken with yuquitas, papas saladas, and the sinfully delicious arepitas, along with rice and beans and the guanábana juice… I’m telling you, my son ate eeeeeverthing in two days 🤣

Today I ordered the grilled tilapia, and nope, there was no box to take home, because it was gone!!
