Stepping into Straight Off The Barbeque, I felt like I'd hitched a ride on a smoker and landed in BBQ nirvana, a far cry from my Californian kale-scape. Let me tell you, if joints like this dotted the Golden State, we'd trade our surfboards for sauce mops overnight!
The feast was nothing short of a carnivorous ballet, where ribs pirouetted and brisket took a bow. It was like the chef whispered sweet nothings to the meat, and it just fell off the bone in sheer bliss. I half expected the pork to stand up and take a curtain call!
Now, onto the local flavor - and I'm not just talking about the sauce. I'd heard whispers of a waitress with a penchant for sharing more than just the specials. Drama, they said, was her side dish of choice. Intrigued, I waltzed in, ready to swap tales from the coast for some homegrown gossip. Alas, it seems the winds of change had blown through the BBQ joint. Perhaps the owner had a heart-to-heart, or maybe she'd found a more attentive audience in the form of a sympathetic brisket.
When I tried to engage, hoping for a juicy tidbit or two, all I got was a "it's all good" served with a side of professional courtesy. No tales of woe or whispers of scandal - just a commitment to the craft and a focus on the food. I must admit, I was a tad disappointed; who doesn't love a sprinkle of drama with their dinner?
But let's not let a side of silence overshadow the main event. The BBQ at Straight Off The Barbeque speaks volumes, and it's all saying, "Eat me!" In a world where drama often steals the spotlight, it's refreshing to find a place where the food - succulent, smoky, and sensational - is the true star of the show.
So, from a Californian with a newfound appreciation for the Texan way of life (and dining), I tip my hat to Straight Off The Barbeque. You've shown me that sometimes, the best stories are told not through words, but through flavors. And for that,...
ย ย ย Read moreI am so disappointed in this place. I heard that it was so good and also agreeable that the portions was plenty, but the food was terrible. My ribs tasted like it had been boiled and reheat it. It was afternoon about around three Ish when we got the order. The sausage had no taste at all. The brisket was tender, but not seasoned rather tasteless. I called the restaurant to let them know how the food was and that I was very disappointed because I had heard that the food was very good. I asked for the manager and the receptionist said she was not in that she would give her the message and she would call me back Well it was late and I did not expect a call that night but the next day still no call from the manager, so I called again and asked for the manager and the receptionist again said that the manager was busy but she would call me back before she leave and I said OK thank you And she asked me if the call was pertaining to the food and I said yes, and I explained to her why I was dissatisfied. She did offer me an apology and said she was very sorry that I experienced that but the manager would give me a call. I said approximately what time so that I would be by my phone And she said around 8 PM. I still did not receive a call from the manager. Today is about a week later and I still have not received a call so I hesitated to do this review because I only like giving good reviews, but I felt like the manager could have at least offered me a comp for the meal a replacement meal or a credit to come back she did not have to refund anything. This is what I call. Poor customer relationship and Service. I will not return there and I will not...
