So the food was mediocre at best. The Sam Ceviche fusion was good but the uni had a very off taste and the chirashi was quite bland.
In terms of the atmosphere, this place is small. All the tables (of which there are very few) are a foot wide and up against a wall. At the bar, your elbows with the person next to you.
Unfortunately, not happy about the service. The server was nice. But he recommended an uni dish with quail egg to try. So we followed his recommendation. Unfortunately, the quail eggs were still frozen so they couldn't serve that to us. Normally if that happens, the waiter should come let us know and see if we wanted to change that order. That didn't happen. So basically we just got served an order of uni with quail egg but with no quail egg. So, just uni. The price for 4 sashimi pieces of uni is $22.98. The price on our bill was $45. We received 2 pieces of uni. Waiter said that there was 4...there wasn't (and if there was, that'd be the smallest piece of uni ever). Irregardless, even if it was 4 pieces, the price is listed on the menu at $22.98. We're being charged twice that. I asked the waiter about this. He said he would look into it. Manager comes over and says that the price is correct. That under the uni, it says seasonal and so the price varies. That is not how it works. If the price varies based on season, they write market price. If you write "seasonal" in parentheses, that typically just means that they may not be serving it as it's not in season. So they offered us a discount for the confusion. It ended up taking $17 off the bill. Still we're being overcharged $22 for this. But on the bill, it reads food subtotal of $X. Next line reads "Discount $17". Next line reads "Subtotal $X". Not X - 17. The whole thing was sketchy.
With a cramped restaurant, subpar food, and sketchy pricing, I would...

Read moreOmg! 100% recommend eating here. Firstly, shout out to our bartender, Zack. He made the most delicious drinks! After my first cocktail was so good, I had to have another. I asked him to surprise me and he didn’t just appease me he raised my standards for all bartenders. The carefully crafted cocktail had muddled black berries and I am unsure if I’ve ever had a better fruit cocktail. Seriously trying to rack my brain of a time a bartender has made a better surprise drink for me ………. I can’t. Secondly, the other staff. Wow?!? Everyone was so nice. I had conversation with multiple staff members the manager and assistant manager, Illiana ( if I’m not mistaken) were so kind. Not kind in a we want your business way, a genuine kindness and joy radiated from them. Thirdly, the food. Just as I thought the experience couldn’t get better … our rolls come out. PRESENTATION ?!? Beautiful. TASTE?!? Scrumptious. The fish tastes so fresh, I was so impressed. Our spicy edamame? I could eat everyday. The perfect mixture of garlic and spice. Finally, the vibe. The decor is beautiful, the bar being placed in the middle of this narrow restaurant fostered such, dare I say, homey feeling. Not necessarily intimate, but it’s close and personal which has been rare to find recently. Please, for your own good, visit this place. I promise you will not regret it....
